Last night spent considerable time on his forum searching and reading everything posted about Entune & Gracenote and all the related problems.

My issues are with using an USB stick for music and no cover art and some of the options being greyed out and unavailable from time to time. In particular "Song List" will grey out and when I hit Browse and then Folders it just flips to the first song on the USB disk.

I used Media Monkey to verify my music files have cover art embedded and other metadata correct.

Came across this today, if correct, explains why Entune is acting like a piece of junk. Might be helpful to others racking their brain trying to figure out the Entune mess. Don't have the issue with CarPlay.

[Q]: Why can’t I see Album Art once I start driving? My previous Toyota vehicle showed album art all the time – why the change?

[A]: All Entune™ 3.0 and newer vehicles will not be able to display the Album Art when the vehicle is out of the Park gear. This decision is based on the new government guidelines to minimize eyes-off-road while driving.

[Q]: Why can’t I scroll through my list of artists and albums and pick a different artist while driving?

[A]: Toyota has limited the amount of content customers may be able to browse while driving in accordance with the new government guidelines to minimize driver distraction.

All Entune™ 3.0 and newer vehicles will display only the playing artist and album when the vehicle is in motion, and list scrolling will be limited unless the vehicle is stopped. As an alternative to touch-based scrolling, Toyota’s enhanced Voice Recognition system will allow you to search artists, albums and songs from your iPod more easily and with greater accuracy.
