Entune head unit update issue - not compatible

Thanks I'm prepping a letter to Toyota North America. This is quite frankly unacceptable.

 

Reviving an old thread, bought a 2016 from a Toyota dealer and had this message. They couldn't get it flashed so they are replacing the head unit. I'm a little uneasy taking it off the lot while the HU is ordered and installed as if this turns into more of a problem i can return it.

 

Here's a copy of the letter I sent where I voiced my concerns to the Toyota North America's executive assistant (Shonte Barrow). Give it a try, I got the 'round around from two dealers...I paid $140 for a new unit when it was all over...My letter was addressed to Tetsuo Ogawa (CEO Toyota NA). I emailed AND sent a letter via USPS certified mail where a signature is required. Feel free to IM with any questions...I told this woman that other Tacoma, Tundra owners have had this issue. Don't let her be coy about it...

 

This happened to me like 1 year ago and I was out of warranty. The head unit received an over the air software update from a SIENNA. It had all the symptoms you are describing. The dealer wanted to charge me for a new head unit so I just got and aftermarket pioneer head unit with the maestro and went on with my life.

 

Mario problem is I did not want to wire in a new microphone. Aftermarket HU's mics suck
