Entune and my iPhone don’t get along. There is a lack of communication. It’s a new adventure every time I start up my truck. Sometimes Entune wants to play music, sometimes a podcast, sometimes I’m locked out and need to manually reconnect. I’ve had to pull over multiple times while driving to fool with my phone and I’ve had it! It should just work right? New truck + new phone should = happy fun time.

So, what is the best phone mount for the Tacoma? Living in California, I need a proper mount for my phone if I’m going interact with it (touch it) while driving.

If you like your setup please post a picture and tell me why.

I got a ram mount for motorcycle handlebars and clamped it to the mirror. Works pretty great and doesn't cover my vent

Another plus for the Hondo Mount, but installed on the left driver vent so the center vent has full function for my pups in the back. This thing is rock solid yet the phone is easy to install and remove. Hondo shipping can be slow.5NUhOTBeRn+TOQhsoKaHXQ.jpg

I hope your realize that in CA, it’s still illegal to interact with your phone while driving. Whether it’s on your lap or mounted to a dash. Your eyes are on it, not the road.

Hands free is hands free. Unless you mount it somewhere and use voice interaction, but ‘manually reconnecting’ isn’t handsfree.

It’s just not worth it. Crashes are too common here to think ‘it’ll be quick, I’ll just glance down’.

It does some but doesn't really bother me. I use my phone for maps and like having it in line of sight

I like the adaptation, but dang. The mirror itself was able to hide dump trucks. If you're at all interested, the 2nd Gen mirror bracket works for our 3rd Gens and has threaded holes for a RAM ball:

Otherwise, I vote for the DMM. Absolutely killer for multiple devices.

+1 on the Hondo vent adopter, but...

    - on the Grip itself... mine vibrates and clicks every damn time. annoying. currently looking to replace.
