    *UPDATE*

I recently upgraded my phone and now the song titles and a hole slew of other features work on Entune. From what I read it has to do with the Bluetooth version and a few other things. I am now on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it works like a charm. I'll be testing an iPhone5 shortly.

That's cool...any more details? What other features?

Did you update to Jelly Bean or what version of Android?

If only the idiot programmers would remove the constant "NO BLUETOOTH" notifications on Entune....

I just tested this out too, hadn't done it in a while. I have the Galaxy S3 with Ice Cream Sandwich and the latest version of Entune. If I use Google Music it sends the album art, and song information to the head unit. Pandora still doesn't though, have to play Pandora through Entune to get the information to display. So it looks like songs stored on the phone or played through google music will show up on the head unit. Pretty cool!

Just got my wife a 2013 Accord and got the text message function to work with iPhone 4S and iOS 6 per this post on the Drive Accord forum:
just got it to work on my iPhone 4S with iOS6. It didn't at first, but then I went into the iPhone settings on the phone itself: Settings->Bluetooth->HandsFreeLink. Turned on Show Notifications and bada-bing-bada-boom...it worked!!

I did the same thing with Bluetooth connection on my phone for the Entune, but app is still greyed out. Hopefully Toyota Entune is not far behind since iOS 6 appears to be taking away the MAP compatibility issue.

The text messaging feature does work with the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5. I have both of them. You need to go to your bluetooth profile on your phone, click the arrow to get to the settings of the profile and make sure that notifications is turned on. You should start receiving a message on the entune screen that says "New Text Message". Then you have to hit the phone button, messages, and your message will show up. Tap on it for the system to read the message to you.

That being said, Toyota does need to polish this a little. There should be an option to read the message when the notification comes up on the screen. Also they need to read who it is from, show on the screen who it is from. Right now, I have no idea who sends me a text message. For example, I am and IT Admin and a corporation that has 5 different locations. I get a text message while Im driving yesterday that says "I cant get into Citrix". I have no idea who sent that to me which means I have no idea which location to call. So I had to pull my phone out and go through the menus while I was driving which defeats the whole purpose of the text messages showing on my screen. Its supposed to be there for safety but if its not practical, no one is going to use it.

It works now with 6.0.1 that I updated to last night, as opposed to 6.0.xx whatever it was....my first update to 6.

You are right, the features are lame with all the intervention needed.

Anyone else get an email about upgrading the map today?

I'm not sure what they're trying to pull here since entune was just upgraded (and they say I haven't upgraded in over a year on a truck bought in April) but I sure as shit ain't paying them $169 to do it!

Well with my phone before Droid Incredible, it didn't do anything but stream music, phone calls and use the internet. With the SG3 it reads my text messages, I can now see album art and song information. It will also alert me when I get a text message. I have an iPhone 5 that I am going to test out this weekend and see what works on that also.

I have been having an issue with my 2013, with my iPhone 5, when receiving phone calls on hands free, it does not play Audio over the speaker system, it will ring and I answer it using car, however the music will just resume playing, I have to switch it to phone and back to car to get it working.

Last night I updated to 6.01 and am hoping this is fixed.

Anyone else know, or have the issue with iPhone 5 and Entune not routing Audio on received phone calls?

Yup. Talk about annoying. I hate to bring the bad news, but I'm pretty sure that isn't going to fix it. I've had the update for a while and I'm pretty sure it still does it.

I got the same email, if you read the fine print, there is a note that the map upgrade for 2012 entune users will not be available until January. Holding out hope that they are not going to make us pay for it and this email was only for non-entune users.

The Message Access for Entune is not an issue with the Units Capabiliy. It has to do with the Iphone iOS, it will work with any iphone that has iOS 6. iOS 6 finally has the Bluetooth MAP (message Access Protocol), this protocol enables this feature, all previous iOS's did not have this.

That being said, I also agree that the nanny features are a bit annoying, especially if you have a passenger that can change settings for you. The voice navigation is neat, but i always forget to use it.

I got the flyer in the mail this week. I know when I was buying the truck, I asked the salesman specifically if I had to get a disc to update the maps and he said it was done automatically. Guess he lied to me. You could buy a brand new Garmin for $169, that's ridiculous!

I just got the update email too.

I wouldn't update my map unless I traveled the country quite a bit. Roads don't change that often. You're mainly missing out on new construction, and you can always use your phone. Not worth it!

I just think it's dumb that it's based off of the year of your truck. If I bought a Garmin,it would come with a free year of map updates. I've only had my truck since August. Not to mention the salesman that lied to me.
