Tried searching, did not find anything.

2018 TRD Pro Entune system won't read text messages. While driving, it used to audibly read my text messages. Now I just get a notification, and the "read" button is blacked out, with only the "ignore" button activated.

2017 Samsung Galaxy Note 8, with the Entune app.

I have a feeling I changed a setting somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what.

Delete ur phone from truck, and truck from phone, and re do it all, after pairing it will come up with a message to allow messaging(or something to that effect) and see if that helps,I had the same issue with my wife's camry.

You might try uninstalling the Entune app on your phone. The app may have updated itself and possibly causing the problem. You can always reinstall it if not having the app makes no difference. I have an older Galaxy S5 (never had the Entune app) that has worked flawlessly with my Tacoma for the last 2 years. That's one reason I don't want a newer phone.

Newer phones have motion censor in them will not notify you of calls or messages while driving. This feature can be turned off. Then make sure that your message setting in phone allows notifications. Had same problem when I got the iphone 7

I just deleted mine and re-added it to the truck. In the process, I noticed a setting on my phone in iOS that I want to say said something about alerts. After turning that on I am not getting the option to have text messages read aloud again. iPhone 8+ w/ latest iOS.

Post #2 is correct. Basically a version of turning it off and back on lol. Just delete it and re pair it.

    Un-paired, then re-paired, problem solved.

Engine/Bluetooth connectivity on these trucks absolutely blow.

Seriously my only complaint with my truck. I regularly am driving rentals for work and have zero issues with my Bluetooth working in the rental vehicles. Ohh well.

The Sync system in my Superduty was far superior.

I don't understand why Toyota doesn't use car play and android auto, its already does what people need, and they would have no upkeep costs as far as updates and what not apple and Google would handle that. I have a don't android auto head unit that I keep wanting to put in my SR but the Bluetooth audio gets me by just fine. But my wife's Camry has the entune with Pandora and stuff, drives us both nuts to point we just use the Bluetooth audio in her car too.

Really someone should start a group buy on head units. Then we can all send Toyota our old ones smashed/blown up/ ripped apart! Mine has never read messages nor has it safely navigated any trip. Worst ever!

I finally got a phone that links up great with my truck. I'm an android guy so it took a while to find the brand that worked best. I'm using a Motorola G5 plus and everything works like it should. Surprisingly the Samsungs didn't and they are the ones that could use the wireless charger. But now but texting works, calls work etc. Only took me 2 years
