I did a quick search and didn't see anything about this but has anyone had any problems with there head unit just shut off on its own?

I was out driving my truck today listening to XM radio and the stereo just shut off, re-started, and shut off again, and then restarted and worked fine for the rest of the time. Maybe some weird glitch but wanted to see if anyone else has had that happen.

Offensive stickers and stuff the wife doesn't know about.
Yeah mine has done that (JBL), just think it's an occasional glitch, techs said that it was prob because my phone had a lot of messages/texts/emails coming in shortly after the start (not the case but whatever, they just don't know what it is). It's only done it once and came back a few min later and hasn't happened since. Still mention it when you take it in for service and have them check it out.

Hey OP, yes lots of threads ... no worry.

The stereo unit is software programmed, so many have rebooted sporadically many times including mine. Then mine did an update and haven't had it crash since.

Rumour was there was a major software entune update coming out, but no one has had one yet.

I got the non JBL head unit and it did it 2 times on my 2014 taco. basically go to the dealer they will update it and also turn off the receive text on your unit so far after 2 updates its going good now haven't had it shut off and it is frustrating cause I had it where im driving and it just shuts off and restarts. I would get off the exit and stop at red light and turn off my truck and turn it back on. so yeah if anything just goto the dealer and let them know that it is mostly an update on it. but from previous post I guess its the blue tooth extender they have to add but then again I unno.

yeah trust me it sucks and I feel your pain, one thing that sucks for me was to stop at a red light and quickly turn off my engine and turn it back on to restart it and it still would lag. but yeah hopefully the dealer will update your system and it should be up and running all good. for me I hope it doesn't happen again for me *knock on wood*

No I haven't had the time and it has been good since. I have a list of some things for the dealer to look at when I get a chance to take it in.

I had the same thing happen on my 3rd gen about three times during the first couple of weeks after that I guess it must have taken an update its been fine without a glitch ever since
