their answer "No they are only available with Toyota Entune Premium."
So if that was a selling point and still is on their site. How is that not something I paid for? I also bought a package that had keyless entry. If they updated my truck and made that feature no longer work would that be any different? Also I understand about 3rd party support BS. But they also can add Carplay to older models. It's not like it hasn't been done before. The head unit is capable of running Carplay. KIA added it to older models with an update back in 2016. Here is a link to that https://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/07/19/kia-carplay-software-upgrade/
So it can be done. Maybe people calling can make that happen. So long paragraph for a short answer, nothing.

So if pandora streaming goes away now that they were aquired by SXM last month, you'll sue Toyota for not supporting something Entune had but now doesn't even exist? But if they gave an update that included something you didn't pay for, it's absurd that you would have to pay? Why should Toyota pay if you won't pay now for features that you didn't pay for. I'm failing to see the consistency in your logic as well as why a company who's stuff is going away is Toyotas liability.

You're not going to win this argument. Just walk away and find something better to fight for. I'm a former WRX owner who bought a Toyota because it had a better infotainment system than Nissan. Resale value aside, because I know that flag will be flown, I bought the Toyota for ENTUNE and Pandora integration. I ABSOLUTELY expect Toyota to replace my FEATURE with a commensurate feature FREE OF CHARGE.

Win? Lol okay pal. Please update me when they pay you money or give you a free lifetime subscription to the upcoming SiriusXM Pandora player. I paid for my Tacoma ONLY so I could use my Entune to stream free copies of a Hitmans Bodyguard on Youtube now it's not available. Wtf. Waiting to hear back from my lawyer to sue Toyota.

I'm not expecting them to take on financial burden to correct another company's decision. Adding Android Auto, which would allow me to use Android's Pandora integration app, would be an acceptable solution. I leave my phone in the wireless charger, and to have to reach down there to change stations (it happens a lot on a 1 hour daily commute with a 4 year-old), or "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down" songs is not only inconvenient, but ILLEGAL in my state.

This makes no sense to what you were even talking about. YouTube is not a supported app on ENTUNE. Look up the "Straw Man Argument".

You’re Spot On - This is not Toyota’s fault, It’s all that money grubbing Serius/XM’s fault. Pandora free music is history. If it survives it will be a subscription service. TOYOTA-Please add Spotify into the system.

Actually, after having Entune and my truck for almost 3 yrs. now, why have we not had at least annual updates with new features.? Come on Toyota, you and Panasonic can come up with something new and exciting!!

Does the entune have any aftermarket value? Does any Tacoma owner who had a more basic radio actually think about upgrading to the Entune radio?

It is a very minimal value to me. I have had it a week and I'm over it.

I would prefer aftermarket for sure.

I will go on step further. Having a new truck myself....my question is when was the decision made and why was it not communicated to me during purchase.

Not sure you could pull it as it is the interface for programming so many features and settings of the truck.

Is there anything it does that the Carista app doesn't do better?

If you PM me I will provide you the number to directly call CEO of Toyota USA.

There executive support team is a joke. This number rings to his line which of course only his assistant answers but it gets the right people's attention. Don't let the naysayers deter you.

I just wish Entune would have more options. My Apple Car Play deck had Spotify app on board on the head unit itself. I wish Entune would upgrade it's app suite to include more apps instead of taking them away.

This is really simple. If the software is updated, the app is removed and Toyota is on the hook for providing similar functionality.

If the app stops working, they are obligated to return the vehicle to the as warrented state.

A judge might find a reasonable solution to be adding Apple play and Google car play or what not

Your state plays a very big role here since there are very few exceptions to warranty coverage on installed features.

My bet....Toyota is forced to pay Pandora for continued functionality or to offer users an incentive to upgrade to new software that removes the installed features.
