Entune Plus Radio 510079 with cover and brackets OEM 86140-04040 with gps antenna and xm tuner

2015 Entune plus head unit with xm tuner and antenna also gps antenna and all brackets and face plate will have to buy a new nut for xm antenna and the antenna cable from the roof Tss radio has them works great just upgrade to a Alpine with nav $300 OBO Xm tuner has been active since i have had truck never called in to Siriusxm

Then why does it have a GPS antenna?

 

It's for the weather and traffic feature

I'm still researching exactly what I need to at least make XM work. It seems the XM ant portion might be incorporated into the lower segment but I'm not sure on that yet.

 

That was good that you didn't purchase that JBL radio. It would not have worked in your Tacoma.

To get XM to work, you need that XM module with the spider cable, as well as a XM antenna. You can find compatible XM antennas on eBay for around $20.

Oh, and after the free trial, a paid subscription.

Whee does the XM antenna need to be positioned?

 

The XM antenna needs to be located outside the vehicle. Although the most popular location is the roof, I've seen them also placed on the windshield.

 

I tried the whole adding the XM Module, and it does not work without an Entune Radio. I bought the XM Module like you are trying to do, and there is no place to connect any of the connections on the Spider cable.

 

Hmm, what is the spider cable? Is it the extra wires I see behind some of the units for sale that include the lower section where the clock and Emergency Flashers are?

 

The spider cable is what connects to the XM Module to the Head Unit. The XM Module sits directly below the head unit if it isn't already there. Picture 3 in this post is the back on the head unit, with the Sat module already connected with the spider cable.
