When I first got the truck and paired my IPhone to it, if I went to maps on the phone itself and set it to navigate to a destination, the navigation screen on the truck would mirror whatever was on my phone. The other day I did something and must have changed the settings because now the truck will no longer mirror the phone when it comes to navigating or map screens.

I can set one or the other to navigate but they remain independent of each other. Everything else is still exactly the same including phone calls and texts.

Any ideas as to why or how to fix it?

Must be a new feature because mine has never done that.

The '19 HU is the exact same as the '18 HU, and it doesn't do that. Our '19 RAV4 with Entune 3 and CarPlay, does do that, but works only when the phone is physically connected (by design).

Unless you have an aftermarket head unit or some other add on, it’s not possible with the factory head unit until 2020. Since you have a 2019 truck, I’d assume it’s new so I would be lead to believe it’s exactly the same as all other pre-2020 trucks.

That may be, but again, it doesn't change the fact that it did do it right up to the time when I changed the settings on my phone. So obviously, for whatever reason it was possible.

    Gotta love this site. SMH....

I apologise if you were offended, I meant my statement as a lighthearted rib.

But what you described is literally impossible. There is no capability for entune to mirror phone screen output, and double that for nav output. In fact, this second thing doesn't exist in the entire automotive industry. There is just not such thing as phone nav mirrored to oem nav.

All ribbing aside, the one thing I can think of is that Google maps pipes voice nav through Bluetooth by default. It you had that set and stopped playing bt audio on entune, then now your nav is silent where before it was piping directions through the truck speakers. Is this perhaps what you're referring to?

    Also, lighten up. Geeze.

It wasn't simply piping the voice prompts, it was literally mirroring the phone. Now it wont do anything.

And I love how I need to lighten up when people pile on to call me a liar. This is a freakin website where people are supposed to be able to go to ask technical questions. Thats what I did but now I’m somehow a liar and what occurred is impossible.

We’re really not trying to be an ass here, but it is not possible for the 2019 or below headunits to do iPhone mirroring. There are aftermarket products for the stock headunit to mirror phones, but none of those uses Bluetooth (I believe WiFi). Did you buy the truck used? Look, I’m not trying to be an asshole here but maybe all along, all you had was the maps on your phone giving you directions, while the same time your truck was simply showing your location. So as you drove and followed the directions on your phone, the headunit was showing you the same exact thing (which it does automatically). In which you mistakenly took it as mirroring.

I don't think you or a few others are trying to be assholes but certainly some are. I’m older and really don't play games like this. I’m merely trying to figure out a solution.

I bought the truck brand new. I don't know what else to say. Maybe thats what it was but i really don't think so. All I know is up to the time when I screwed with the map settings on the phone, I could go to my phone and set it to go to a destination and it would mirror on the navigation screen on the truck.

I never thought twice about it because I thought they all did that. Ill have to play with it and see what happens I guess. Thanks for the help...

From what we know it’s not possible, if there’s a way to do it, there’s a lot interested in how to do it on our trucks…

There was an app called scout gps (I’m not quite sure) that would let you input your destination in the phone app and then it would navigate on the truck. But I believe Toyota discontinue that app on the truck along time ago.

Yeah it was scout. It was the navigation for the trucks that didn’t have built in navigation

No I haven't. This phone was a replacement for my original phone which I broke. I’m starting to think there was a different navigation system installed that worked with the truck. I don't know what else it would be unless my head unit is programmed differently for whatever reason.

The entune system in the truck will do that on its own if it has a data connection (HD radio). I don’t have scout or the entune app installed personally.
