Entune radio restart with bluetooth calling

    Hey all! I was on my way home last week and trying to call my wife using the hands free bluetooth and voice commands. The call wouldn't go through so I tried twice more and on the third try the system rebooted itself mid driving down the freeway. Once the system came back online I was able to place my call. On the first try. My question is has anyone else experienced this and how concerned should I be? Hasn't happened since but still. I plan on mentioning this during my first appt to get it documented. Is a new head unit in my future?

    This has happened to me but when receiving calls. I like to use my phone instead of the speakers so any time I would select "handset" mode it would reset. I updated my HU when I installed the Entune Apps and it hasn't happened since.

    Something happened to my 15, the dealer updated the software never had an issue again.

    Mine was automatic because I installed the Entune app on my iphone. The next time I paired it it prompted my for the update on the HU.

    Hmm mine has always been connected with the entune app too and has gotten updates before... hmm hoping this is a one off

    This happens sometimes in my wife’s 2017 Highlander XLE. We have updated both the phone (iOS) and the HU. The dealer is stumped. We think it may have something to do with using “Waze” at the same time but aren’t sure. I’m not convinced a new HU will fix it.

    The short answer is no, it only happened to me that one time and hasn't since. I'm not too concerned anymore unless it happens again.

    Happens to me constantly. Very frustrated I just bought a new truck with a recurring defect. Been looking for solutions online and no one seems to have one. I’ve made sure software is up to date. Will do same for firmware (once I figure out how). Has anyone had this resolved?

    Mine did it constantly once I went to iOS 11. I updated the entune software and it helped significantly but still crashed on occasion

    Now it’s basically a non issue again.

    Mine seems to be doing it a little of late. I think I have noticed it much more commonly when I'm listening to an audiobook via BT, and dial out via a shortcut on the head unit. That's the only thing I *think* is common in each scenario.

    I’ve checked and there isn’t any software update available. Oddly, I updated the system before pulling off the lot (sales rep did it). Had problems immediately. Then did another update a week or so ago. Just checked, and nothing shows in update history. Probably unrelated, but seems odd.

    Anyway, software updates have not helped me, but glad they have helped you.

    Definitely happens to me some when listening to something via Bluetooth and then calling out via shortcut on home screen. But happens other times too. E.g., when trying to use Siri via the microphone (holding down the Siri button on my phone). I think all occurrences are while trying to make a call or issue a command to my phone. I wish I could know exactly when/how it happens. I’d be more willing to invest the time taking it back to the dealer for a fix.

    I've thought about taking it in too.... but then I worry they're going to crap on my party because of the anytimebackupcamerawithfrontcamera mod I have. Oh, and the MESO ECT Pro Knob. If it happened more than once every few weeks, I'd probably take it in.
