entune randomly shutting off

    Anyone else having issues with the entune radio randomly shutting off while driving ? It shuts off randomly while I'm driving and restarts as if I'm turning the car on again. It super annoying. I have a appointment with the dealership for Sunday . Just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues ?

    Mine did that beginning day 1. Radio unit replaced within the week, no troubles now, 3700 miles later

    Yes mine does every once in awhile. Did 3 times Thanksgiving week. Was at dealership today ... was told there should be an update soon for it. No idea what that means? Is there an SD card or something. Hasn't rebooted for 2 days now.

    My 2014 4Runner LTD does that as well once in a while. Just scratched my head each time and ignored it. Not new issue to new Tacoma from what I see.

    There was another thread about this earlier, I think it might have not used Etune but rather "radio" or "nav"

    i listen to all my music off a USB stick can't stand the radio stations here on maui. i rip hours of music from XM on my computer to a USB stick, we do not get XM here either. mine would shut off periodically but found the very old USB stick was the issue. got a mini USB and all is good now.

    I have the same issue. It is very frustrating and especially when it reboots and does not recognize your device. You take your eyes off the road while driving or inconveniently pull over to just make your music play again. My dealer says that corporate customer service is now handling my case. Have your dealers escalated your concern? I have a tacoma trd sport 4x2. What do you guys have? I have not heard of this issue with those who upgraded to a JBL.

    Mine shut off on a trip the first week I had it. Been fine until today. Shut off twice on my 2 mile drive to work. I'll keep an eye on it. If it keeps doing it, the dealership will have a 16 Tacoma to work on

    Mine cut off on three separate occasions driving to work today about a 45 min drive. I also have the TRD Sport 4x2. Sounds like we might be onto something?!

    Maybe. I got my truck really early too. I bought my truck early october too, so the build date was probably august or september.

    I was very upset and the dealer agreed to replace my stereo due to "the level of my frustration on my brand new truck", then they will call me once it has arrived and ready to be installed. then toyota corporate reached out to me and said they were gonna make a case for me and review my case. they held me up in multiple customer service phone calls for 2 weeks. I reached out to the dealer and ask for an update. They now say that corporate was handling the case. 3 weeks later. Toyota corporate recommendation? Take it to the dealer for diagnostics and for them to "duplicate" the problem. Are they gonna drive my car for 2 hours and wait til it shuts off? Back to square one. I wish i had not picked up the corporate call. Anyone has a better update on this?

    Yes. There is an update available for the 4runner and toyota sienna and the hilander.. none for the 16 tacoma

    Just got off the phone with my dealership. They are well aware of this issue and he thinks that the firmware needs updated. He said when the truck was built if it didn't have the latest version of firmware installed then that could be causing the unit to shutdown randomly. I have an appointment on 12/28 for them to check the firmware and if it isn't that they said they would have to open a "tech case" to see about getting me a new unit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's just the firmware. He said the appointment should only take about 60-90 minutes. I'll report back after my appointment on 12/28.

    my 2015 did it very early, maybe twice in the first 2 months. It seemed to work itself out, not sure if there was some kind of update. I get one every few months since, no biggie fo rme.

    Mine just started... 4 times in the first 30 munutes of my drive to work. I turned Bluetooth off/on on my phone (it stopped reading messages a couple days ago). Fixed the messages and in the last 20 minutes Entune ran fine..m hopefully it works/worked itself out

    Had this issue two days ago on a long road trip. It was frustrating since I was using my navigation but luckily it's quick to restart and it didn't cause me any real issues. This was the first it happened in 1,000 or more miles but then it proceeded to shut off about four times in a matter of 20-30 minutes. Hasn't happened since and I'm at over 2,400 miles. I'll hope for an update and not a replacement unit.
