My 2015 did this the other night, seems like it started for some of us around the same time, any idea if you can do a update yourself or do you have to bring into dealer.

So I had a appointment on Monday 12/28 and dealer said there are currently no updates available and since they couldn't re-create the problem there is nothing they can do! Talk about a waste of 2 hours...I woke up early for that damn appointment too!!

I am about to do the same next week. This will be the 2nd time i will be wasting my time. Corporate case manager says I have to take it back so that they can re-create the problem. Already showed them 2 videos of it booting back up while driving. I just could'nt grab the phone quick enough when it shuts off.

Picked up our Tacoma ORSB 2 days ago, had this issue 3 times driving home from dealer, and once today (200 miles on the odometer now). Had no issues all day when the phone was charging through a usb adapter into the 12v socket, but it restarted after I'd moved the phone onto the USB/AUX so perhaps this is where the issue lies? I initially thought it was doing updates from dealership, but will keep an eye on it before running back to dealer.

This is normal. If you plug in via the USB the input mode will switch from Bluetooth to the hardwired source. I don't like the fact that it does this though. In my opinion a Bluetooth connection should remain connected and the input source mode should not change unless changed on the mobile device or head unit.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but.....

wondering if anyone knows if a firmware update for the gracenote software fixes this issue?

I have same issue on my truck, wouldn’t mind fixing it if possible.
