So a few weeks ago as I was installing my subwoofer I had my HU out and it accidentally slipped and hit my shifter. When I had it all plugged back in, I realized I damaged the screen and there was a narrow black stripe across the screen. Within a week it was two small black dots and a thin black line. The radio worked fine, but the screen damage was a bit annoying so I bought another stock radio from a member on here who upgraded his. My truck is a 2016, his was a 2018 I believe.

Swapping was a breeze and the radio works great. Only problem is now my on dash compass and radio source information does not work. It will work intermittently for a minute or two but then turn off so the screen shows no information. Is it not compatible with my 2016? They seem to be linked because they either both work or don’t work.

I noticed some slight menu differences but nothing major so I’m wondering if there is a software issue. So I updated the radio with the current version and the Entune app updated as well but they still don’t work. I did like the compass because it would show the speed limit. Not a huge deal but I would like to figure this out. Any thoughts?

    2 things to try.

Unplug all the plugs in the radio and plug them back in to make sure there are no bent pins or poorly seated connectors.
Disconnect the battery and reconnect it.

Also there is a way to calibrate the compass in the manual but not sure if that's only for the mirror or not. Might be worth trying.

I took the radio out and found one plug that was not seated completely, so hopefully that was my problem!
