2014 DCSB OR with Entune system with Nav. Freezes atleast once a day and multiple times on long drives, requires holding down power button to restart. Has trouble connecting to other devices and has grayed out options for address book in navigation.

Has this happened to others? Is there a software update to fix? It is not that old and should not be glitching this often. Anyone know how to solve it?

Mine wasn’t freezing as often as yours, but happening intermittently. Mine is the Entune radio but no Nav. On my 15, my software was old enough that I had to go to the dealer for the update per the site above. Software was whatever came with the truck. The dealer did it under warranty. So far no issues with the fix. Per the dealer I should now be able to do updates from the site linked above if they release another update in the future.

So do you just go to that site, I'm assuming download something onto a USB drive and then stick it in your Tacoma, turn it on and... it'll update on its own?

I will have to do this. Mine froze up a lot when connected to my phone via Bluetooth, and even worse when connected to my iPod via usb, freezing the iPod as well. No longer use the iPod, but my entune hasn't been updated.

    A lot of stuff.
I get this message for my 2014 Without Navigation:

    Update Type - Operating System
A multimedia system update for your vehicle is not currently available here.

I'm guessing another Stealership if I go that route..

I'm currently at the dealer and was told the problem was caused by bluetooth connecting my husband's iPhone, that the truck was designed for use with android (which my daughter and I have). Anyone ever heard this?? Sounds fishy.

I use my iPhone 8+ with no issues. Although mostly just the phone, but I sometimes stream music through Bluetooth audio. I also use an old iPod (6 or 7 years old) just plugged into the USB. My wife also has an iPhone 8. I’ve had no problems with the screen freezing since the software update.

I have an iPhone 6 and stream music through Bluetooth. The system has not locked up since I installed the update. Before that it froze once a week.
