Thought I would pass along that after updating my 2013's JBL Display Audio with Navigation and Entune App Suite from 5.1.0 to 5.2.0, there was a much appreciated improvement to the Bluetooth Audio connection.

Even as far back as the version 3 Entune, I always preferred and used the integrated Pandora application via the data connection / cable to my iphone. The sound quality and volume were much better than over Bluetooth.

Recently, I started using Google Play and was a little bothered by the less than desired Bluetooth performance. I then stumbled on to the 5.2.0 firmware (but not even for the purpose or expectation of helping the Bluetooth).

I loaded up the new firmware on the head unit and went on with my day. The next day, on my drive in to work, I started Google Play on the iphone and was surprised by the much better audio quality. In addition, the volume setting is now closer to all of the other input sources. It used to be that I could easily hit MAX on the volume over Bluetooth (and it not be excessively loud). Now (and just like with other input sources), I don't go anywhere near MAX.

Here's the link to the firmware (for this type head unit):

Just to be clear, exactly what radios will this work on. I have a '14 Entune without NAV in my '14 Tacoma, and a JBL HDD radio in my '13 Camry XLE Hybrid. I'm guessing this won't work on either?

I'm curious also, mine is a 2015 non JBL, Entune with Navigation. Has any one with a 2015 try this yet?

How can one find out what system one's vehicle has? Mine is a 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport. No Navigation. Maybe not a JBL either. Does the owner's manual tell us that?

If you have a JBL there will be a JBL label typically on the bottom left or right corner of the radio face.

I've found if it's not the right update, your radio will just not let you do the update, it won't scramble anything. When I tried it, it just said unrecognized file.

I have the Entune/JBL/HDD/NAV radio in my '13 Camry XLE Hybrid and it's last update file is dated 2012. I thought surely there would be an update for that and there isn't. The Gracenote file is where the pictures come from when a song comes on, mine is only text. You'd think that the best radio that Toyota offers would at least have the features working that the lesser ones have, but it does not. I don't think it's a Toyota issue, it's a 3rd party company that's not updating it, probably because there aren't nearly as many of this type of radio out there.

I tried it on my 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport, nothing happened. It was like no USB drive was even inserted. Maybe not the correct update for it.

    Entune Firmware update.
Correct URL for software download is:
    https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/downloads

You should see the option to select model/year of vehicle and then be presented with correct file. Just updated my 2014 JBL without issue.
