Entune Update

Just installed update 5.1.0 on my 2013 JBL headunit. Working well enough. I've been a Slacker Radio user for years, so I am very pleased to see it brought to the factory level headunits. However, I don't think it is any easier to access through the headunit than just streaming with bluetooth. If you turn the truck off, that "Source" list goes back to default and doesn't list "Slacker" once the truck is restarted, and the radio defaults to FM radio. Not the case when streaming bluetooth, as once the truck is restarted, bluetooth automatically resumes. And you can select to auto-resume inside the phones slacker app. But its cool though

 

i never signed up for Sirius after the Free 3 month trial. i still get Real time traffic with my Nav. i believe it pulls it right off the Entune app on your phone so it does use some Data.

 

I agree, the Tacoma is a great mid-size truck but it seems that Toyota is just treading water with it while other are move forwarding with their truck designs.

 

This works on the 2013 JBL?

 

Yes, I upgraded my 2013 JBL this morning to 5.1.0 from 3.2.0.

 

You know. The nav seems to be a bit more stable with the new 5.x.x update. Maybe it's just me. Or maybe I am just enjoying the Slacker radio app that much more.

 

One thing I like about slacker over Pandora and others -- it has a very good Comedy station. Today's Comedy, Explicit (uncensored). If you like stand-up comedy, you'll really like slacker.

For those who've updated their HU, have you guys ran into the headunit freezing. Mines had done it at least 5 times now since updating. It didn't even do that before the update.

It would freeze up randomly for a couple minutes then it would reboot/restart by itself.

Anyone know how to reset the HU?

 

I've had zero issues and now have a new Slacker account. I'd redownload the update and reinstall. Maybe something got corrupted in the download.

 

I'll give that a try.

How would that work though since the software is already up to date?

No issues with the new update on my '12 Loving the Slacker Radio and the functionality that carries over from my paid, full access Slacker account. I have yet you use the new search destination function

 

Did you have to use the USB port to upload the update? I cant find the update head unit screen on my 2012, did that get added on later models?

 

I did the USB upload. But I had early access. Some here have said their HU's auto updated the day Toyota rolled out the patch. Did you notice if your Apps have changed? It could have updated on it's own

 

So I finally got around to trying to update my 2014 and it would not work.

I plugged in the usb with the file but nothing popped up on my screen.
Did anyone else experience this problem?
