Entune Update

I updated this morning and Pandora went away.

 

no and weather still works without it too. you just lose the native app support and the few gimmicks the entune app gives you like saved locations and what not.

 

I'm wondering if you decline (ignore) the update on the head unit and dont update the entune app on your phone if it'll still work. That's my plan

 

Nope, I tried that but the app won't connect.

I tried slacker radio today, it doesn't seem like a terrible alternative so far.

 

It's ok, but you have to restart it every time you get in the truck. It won't remember the station you're on and won't auto-play.

 

I don't know why they would pull Pandora. SiriusXM just acquired/bought Pandora.

It seems this has begun working correctly the next time I started the truck up, happy it's not botched so far!

 

Ugh - tried iheartradio for a bit but of course, leave the house in silence because when my phone switches from wifi to cell for data entune just locks up.

plus iheartradio doesn't auto play.

seriously, i just want to get in my truck, and the native entune music apps actually work without a million button presses and digging my phone out of my pocket to disconnect and reconnect the app.

why is this so hard

 

Not that you should have to do this, but there are several apps available to set up your phone to automatically turn off wifi when you connect to your truck. I use an app called Automate, and when my phone connects to the truck, it turns off wifi and turns the notification volume to silent (so it doesn't mute the music every time any app gives me a notification). When I turn off the truck, it resets the notification volume and turns wifi back on.

Also, I agree 100% on auto-play. Pandora did this, but iHeartRadio and Slacker Radio don't, and it's annoying.

 

I just updated yesterday (JBL System in Limited) and now notice that about half of the FM stations I listen to are no longer coming in HD...

Anyone else seeing this?

 

Did the radio's presets get wiped too? I had that happen a few weeks ago.

 

Are you talking about the app on the phones or the head unit?

I see that there's a new version for the iPhone as of a few days ago.

 

Nope... all still there. just the HD issue.

 

i used to be able to use my phone/siri/assistant button to recall google. now it just shows my call log. anyone? pixel3 here

 

Gotcha.
The HD radio seems similar to the olden tymes stereo/mono button....except now everything is buried in a damn menu.

 

With my original Pixel XL, I could say Ok Google and get it to do anything pretty easily including sending texts by voice. With my 3 XL, it doesn't seem to work as smoothly. With Entune running, touching the mic button on the keyboard never worked. This is a rare thing, so I haven't spent much time working with or caring too much.
