Entune Update

i think that it was the music app didn't start playing automatically.

 

Mine will auto connect and start playing whatever app is open running in the background. Pandora, I heart music, or apple tunes.

 

well iheartradio definitely doesn't auto play which sucks.

i actually called toyota to confirm. https://www.toyota.com/support/contact-us

spoke to a lady and we talked for about 10 minutes and she went back to some tech resources and said that yeah, iheart was never setup to auto play like pandora.

i told her since the update there really isn't any reason for me to use the entune app on my phone as it doesn't provide any additional functionality.

 

Not sure if it just me but I had to use google maps to navigate to a couple places in small towns last weekend and The audio directions did not play over the speakers when connected by BT? I vaguely remember the audio playing over the speakers prior to the update?

Also if I stream music via a webpage it does not play in the truck

 

Did anyone get or know what the entune update was for today

 

Came here to ask the same question. I can't find it anywhere.

 

Mine updated this morning as well, looked like it was just basic app updates and bug fixes if I remember correctly. I didn't notice anything afterwards but I didn't look much into it.

 

Can't say for sure, but I'm fairly positive the update managed to bork my average tank mpg. I have only used 1/4 of my tank so far this fill up, but the screen said I was at 13mpg. By the time I got to work, I was back up to ~16. I run on 33s without the computer adjusted so my MPG sucks to begin with. But on the bright side, my 10 mile drive to work only takes 9.5 miles according to the computer.

The update did change what screen my gauge cluster display was on. I had to change it back to the tank MPG from the speedometer screen it had changed it to.

 

I saw that the app on the iphone had an update.....did the head unit update as well?

 

Unbelieveable.....first i lose Pandora connectivity, now today they warn that yet ANOTHER app is to be removed from the "App Suite". A suite implies several things, no?
Is Toyota going to fix this???? My first new vehicle bought 10/18 coming from a used 2001 Jeep grand cherokee bought in 2004. I expected the Toyota entertainment system to be better than I had in 2004....alas it appears it isn't.

I just got an email saying there would be an update in May removing movietickets.com app. I think I will protest, because this app was so useful to me..../end sarcasm/

 

Fuckin’ hate it. Entune is a bag of shit.

 

Definitely a worthless app. Good riddance, makes more space for anyone who hacks the Entune to add Android Auto/Carplay.

 

I especially like this part: "While this icon will remain on your vehicle’s audio multimedia display, if you select this icon an error message will be displayed."

Really? Can't even remove the stupid icon as part of your "update"?

 

Too bad they didn't go that route with the Driver Side Grab Handle...
Delete it but leave it in place.
