I didn't and so far have no regrets... then again I haven't had the truck for 24 hours yet.

I made sure to order mine with Entune, for a few reasons

    1. I wanted the factory look
    2. I wanted the factory camera
    3. I wanted to use my factory BT
    4. Being able to link my Iphone to the truck is a plus and with built in pandora support

I will be installing an aftermarket system in mine for sure, in fact i have already ordered all of the gear, just waiting for Marv to finish building my box.

I will be using the Alpine Imprint unit to convert factory to aftermarket. Once this is done, its going to be amazing and for about the same price of a high end navi unit..

My entune only cost me 1500, but i do see some dealers sell it for a 2k option.

sync for ford is less then a grand and entune is 2k???/ why???? not only that but it doesnt do all of what a 700 pioneer does... and you have to pay for a service after 3 years

    +1

I understand the pull of a factory unit (which is why I like the 2012 standard unit - its great!!!) but Entune is just way overpriced if you ask me. Especially considering it's a pay service.

Well sync has been out longer.

My question is what $700 pioneer can do the same thing and does it integrate the factory stuff. For example tire pressure, oil life, back up cam, etc? And does entune do any of this beside the back up cam?

    Here's my .02

I've had my 12 Tacoma TRD OR for about 10 days now. I just couldn't justify spending the extra $2k on a radio system, so I went with the standard radio. There were 2 dealers that had the exact truck I wanted, one dealer had one with the entune and the other the standard radio. I actually really like the standard radio, still has blue tooth, still connects my iPhone for phone use or iPod use, and the truck still has a back up camera. Otherwise all the other fancy stuff is on my phone! I could think of a lot of other things to do with $2k.

I got it on mine, do not regret it! I had opportunity in the past to get a upgraded system in my G35 and realized it was not worth the money. I was skeptical going into the upgrade. I said what the hell go for it. Bought my 07 sport not getting everthing I wanted on it (4x4) and I regreted it! Not this TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D By the way I did not pay 2k for mine. Oh and you keep a factory look.

The $2000 isn't just for the entune, its for the whole navi package. The sell for me wasn't entune, the sell was the JBL Speakers and the Sub that sound like an aftermarket system. I have an I-Phone so it will do everything that entune will and honestly is much easier. I have only used it a couple of times and haven't been impressed. I do like that the backup camera moved to the navi screen and hope that it will eventually be able to play movies. It will read photos off of a USB (as long as you aren't moving) so I believe it can be done. The navi also reads tire pressure but doesn't do anything to show MPG. I was surprised to see that it has no options on it for calculating MPG...unless I am missing something.

This is my first Toy, I have had it 2 weeks today and love it.

Negative. Mine is DC TRD Sport with no Entune. Sport Upgrade Package has it though.

I don't see where the ability to read tire pressure is available on this Entune....only the Premium version available on Prius and Camry.

P.S. I read my manual, did I miss it?

I'd say for less than $1000 you could pick up a full navigation headunit and add every accessory they make for it.

I'm trying to decide on what truck to get right now a TRD Sport with Entune or SR5.
I went and talked to 2 Car Stereo Places and they said as of right now they don't have anything that comes close to Entune and everything it does. Nav systems are a dime a dozen.

Does anyone actually have a spec sheet on what entune will do? What if the system gets a virus and it screws with your truck settings? If you can surf the web it is highly likely someone with hit entune with a virus.

For the people that say it will be outdated in 6 months your right. If you take that attitude what about your phone, PC, t.v. and everything else you buy? It's all outdated by the time you leave the store.

If you have an iPhone entune is worthless. However, the speakers and nav are very good and worth the money.

You said it! :) maybe if toyota would stop trying to be like every other manufacture and go back to basics with less electronics, they'd get back to being truly reliable, dependable

No way! Initial cost is too high, plus my iPhone and many other smart phones out there already do what this does. To put the cherry on top, you gotta pay for this with monthly fee's after your free 3 year trial is up? Forget it, go with aftermarket nav unit.
