Is it possible to update the Entune in my 2015 Tacoma to be compatible with Android Auto?

Also, I want to update Entune yet the procedure I find online does not work. I open the Toyota app, yet what is supposed to appear according to this procedure does not appear.
    How to Update Toyota Entune™
    1. Launch the Entune™ app, and then connect to your vehicle using USB or Bluetooth®.
    2. A menu will appear on screen, asking you to choose between updating “NOW” or “LATER.”
    3. Selecting “NOW” takes care of all your updates immediately and automatically.
    TIA

unfortunately for a lot, android auto & apple carplay will only be available on 2020+ Tacomas. there is the option of going aftermarket if one chooses to do so.

Thank you for the information and that has been confirmed with a try at a recent update. I also spoke with the Toyota executive office and they do not appear to care about any update to the 3G software. So, does anyone know if there is a compatible Toyota head unit that will fit into the existing head unit space? I want to retain all the functionality I currently have, e.g., GPS, voice recognition, etc. and still be able to use the controls on the steering wheel, yet have the ability to have Android Auto, Waze, etc.? If not a Toyota unit, is there a different brand that will fit my wants?

Crutchfield.com is a place to start looking, as well as the Audio subforum here.
