That's definitely the idea, they exist just gotta be patient and do my homework when one pops up.

True but you're getting about the same mpg as me and I'm pretty much stock still lol

haha thanks! Yeah it took me forever but I finally set up a build thread a few months back.

Ordered some OME Dakar rear leaf springs today, finally be able to ditch my stock packs + 3 leaf AALs. They've served me well, and they actually ride great with the weight of the RTT back there...but any more added weight and they sag pretty badly. Pics to come following the install

    Thanks!

I wouldn't...I ended up preloading the 5100s to get more lift but it hurts the ride. It's not recommended to do that. If you can, go with the 882s IMO

But 882 would be harsh is shitttt ?? Stiff ride ?? That’s what I research those 882 need weight out front rigth ? Or the v6 would be good weight .

I ran 882's with OME shocks on a '99 I had years back and it rode great. Stock bumper on a 4wd V6 Ext Cab. What made it a little rough was that I was running 33" Interco Truxus tires.

882s are the same spring rating as the 881s, they're just longer so you get a little more lift out of them. The 883s have a higher spring rating for more weight and would be stiffer. I think 882s would be your best bet, and new UCAs are a good idea if you're getting 2.5 - 3" of lift but not everyone ends up needing them...if you have trouble with alignment after putting the lift on then it would be best to look into UCAs.

Spent most of the day this past Saturday installing my new OME Dakar leaf springs, took me nearly 7 hours to do the install because I couldn't get the bolts lined up and had to get creative with ratchet straps. Was a giant pain in the ass, if you attempt to do this install yourself make sure you have a perfectly level driveway to do it on, or better yet a garage lift, lol. My legs are so sore I feel like I was doing squats all day. If you manage to get it all lined up though, it's an easy swap...just bolts right in.

The ride is amazing, so much smoother than the 3 leaf AAL packs I had on previously and they should hold the weight of my RTT and camping gear much better.

How much higher does you rear sit now compared to the 3 leaf AAL?

Exact same height, actually...I was a little (pleasantly) surprised. I thought it might be a little higher but nope. Looking at my truck, you can't tell anything changed but the ride is significantly better. Haven't tried loading it up with camping gear weight yet but it should hold it better than the AALs did, they would start to sag pretty bad with any added weight on top of the RTT.

That is pretty interesting. Sounds like it should hold up much better with all that RTT weight

Finally got an AFR gauge, been needing one ever since I got my truck (previous owner put a TRD boost gauge in but no AFR gauge). Picked up an AEM digital one for around $140 bucks, they aren't cheap but they have a great reputation. Ignore the dash-tape mounting job, trying to figure out where I want to permanently mount it before I commit.

    Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 4.38.26 PM.jpg

Got the bung welded in at a shop but wired the gauge up myself...I have virtually no experience with electrical so it was a bit of a learning process for me but straightforward as far as that goes. On a similar note, I picked these 4 Cree LED offroad lights up a few weeks ago and finally got them on the truck:

    Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 4.37.45 PM.jpg

Speaking of wiring, they didn't come with a wiring harness so I had to order one...so for now they're just on my truck for looks haha. Once I get the harness I'm going to give it a shot myself, though we'll see how that goes...

Also did a bit of wheeling on Saturday, Lockwood Canyon --> Miller Jeep Trail. Pretty challenging trail with some fun obstacles, no real trouble on any of it but banged up the skids/sliders pretty good.
