I did, ran with that for a couple months but it still didn't hold my camping gear + tent weight very well...sagged quite a bit. Rather than install another AAL, I scored a good deal on some new All Pro Expo leaf springs and swapped those in. Been using the Expos now for a couple months and they've been awesome, they sag a little with the camping weight but not as bad as the Dakars did.

I really liked the way the Dakars rode, they were a lot softer than these All Pros...but the constant squeaking drove me nuts on mine and they just weren't able to hold a lot of weight all that well.

For a truck that doesn't see huge amounts of weight in the bed, I think the Dakars are great...definitely gotta get the greaseable bushings with them though because those eye bushings love to squeak and creak.

So...here's my truck as she's sitting today (haven't updated here in awhile)

Since my last update, I've ditched the Dakars + AAL for All Pro EXPO leaf springs, they do a much better job holding the weight of my RTT and gear.

    and

Ditched my 32" KO2s for 33" skinny Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx (255/65r16)

Ya haven’t had a prob with mine other than squeaking, an I just pb blast the shit outta them, they def sagged with gear, but aal made a lot of difference but haven’t got a lot of off roading in so could settle more, an leafs def settled back down from where leafs were initially after aal install just from dd duty, but still sits .5” higher than front (before sat .5” lower than front) I feel like diff rear shocks made a big difference too tho

yeah I put in remote resi Icons (2.0)'s in the rear about a year ago, those helped soften up the ride a bit but the biggest difference was in the leafs for me. Also having good bumpstops back there helps too, I installed some Wheeler's Superbumps in the rear about 6 months ago and just recently put some new front bumps in from @Plastics Guy

Nope, I've got about 2.25" lift in the front using my Kings and a 3" lift out back using the All Pro Expo leafs, so I'm slightly higher in the rear

What did you use to adjust your kings? I recently put some on my truck and they are different to adjust than the ICons I had before. The spacing on the holes it kind of weird in the area around the set screw. My UCA get right in the way of it after each full revolution.

yeah it's a little tricky...I used the punch that King provided with the coilovers. It's not a spanner wrench like Icon or Fox uses, it's just a thick punch tool that's kind of hard to use because it's difficult to get a good grip on it (and it only fits in the adjustment holes if they're completely accessible).

My UCA ended up being in the way of a couple of them so I ended up having to unbolt the bottom of the shock so that I could angle the coilover away from the UCA a bit to get the punch in there and turn it...takes some finessing.

    Thanks!

If you're in Southern CA you can pick one up from Tuff Stuff and get a cash discount, think mine was $800 cash when I got it about a year ago (saved like $150 or something over ordering online).

How’s the ride with your current front suspension/weight setup?

Ride is good, and it handles offroad way better than my previous 5100 setup. The front is a little stiffer than I'd like it to be but I think it's because of the preload I had to put on the Kings to get the height that I wanted. When the time comes to rebuild them, I'm going to go with a stiffer spring so that I don't need as much preload...and so that I can put a bumper up front eventually.

I have the same setup. Kings up front. Way to much preload and no added front end weight. It’s very stiff though. Definitely not as comfortable as it should be.

Yup same experience I had especially in the beginning. I had mine set to 3" lift which not only made the front really stiff but also wreaked havoc on my CVs.I brought it down to about 2.25" which helped. But a stiffer spring should make it so that you don't need as much preload and help the ride quality...these Kings are set up out of the box to be OEM replacements meaning they were meant to ride best with no preload at all...so when we adjusted them for lift we lost a lot of ride quality.

I'm probably going to do 650# springs next (they came with 600# ones)

Huh interesting...I still have my clock lol. Mine came with the TRD boost gauge on the A-pillar and I added an AFR gauge on the dash right next to it...currently it's just mounted with double sided mounting tape (looks kind of ghetto) because eventually I'm going to find another place for it permanently.
