Yeah it's the eBay ARB knockoff that everyone is buying lately lol. It's a virtually identical copy and mine has been great since I installed it a couple months ago. The plastic and tubing is of high quality. Definitely the way to go if you want one...don't spend $400+ on the ARB one.

They first batch the eBay seller had sold out pretty quick at $100 and when they added more a month later the price went up to $128. I think they sold out again so it might go up again next time, but even still it's a great deal.

And they ship it from Malaysia in less than a week, I got mine in 6 days lol. Everyone has

Can you elaborate a bit on your tailgate/swingout? Looks like a very nice set up. Did you fab it yourself?

Thanks! I did not fabricate it, I wish I had that skill set lol. Not yet though. The tail gate swing out was made by a local TW member/fabricator @GHOST SHIP

I haven't updated this thread in awhile, here's some pics of it...super happy with how it came out, I recently painted it black this weekend

No rush. If you're free this weekend we can work on that other project we talked about or at least get measurements and whatnot to get started. I have a slider install on Saturday, but otherwise free.

Awesome, I'll let you know...I think my wife and I are going to head out to Mammoth to get some camping in this weekend before the start of the holiday season when things start to get crazy. But if not this weekend then definitely sometime soon

Last week while rotating my tires I noticed my driver's side OEM CV axle had a small tear in the boot, grease was starting to make a mess in the area :frusty: Been almost exactly one year since the last time I had this happen (happened 3 times the year before, finally lowered my lift down which really helped).

Last year when this happened I noticed it the day before I was supposed to embark on a 4 hour road trip up north for my wedding, so I replaced it and in my haste I cross threaded the axle nut when putting the new CV in. That resulted in a failed wheel bearing the next day on the 400 mile drive and a $1000 mechanic bill the day before my wedding, lol.

So this time around I knew I had to be extra careful when installing the new CV axle. My mistake last time was that I hammered the end of the axle to get it to pop into the diff and in doing so, I messed up the threads and the axle nut cross threaded. This time around I took my time and managed to get it to pop into the diff simply by muscling it in by hand, worked like a charm.

    20190911_190840_2.jpg

Only downside is that this new CV I put in tonight is a cheap $80 Pep Boys special....I'm going to re-boot the OEM one I took out with a high angle inner boot from CVJ and re-install it when it's ready. Hopefully this cheap axle gets me through my camping trip this weekend.

Do it, be the test dummy :p. I'll get the perfected product
Also I know I've asked before but what leaf spring setup are you running, I got a camper shell and now I absolutely need to replace my leaves. Was gonna get some deavers from titus... but he's taking forever to deinstall that sooooo I'm leaning towards buying my own and getting it done sooner before its desert season
Watching that is making me really consider paying a shop to reboot my cvs because I could easily screw that up.... also lack of time and desire to wheel hard

Rebooting is easy and so is installing CVs, if you want I can help you do it...I installed this CV axle tonight in a little over 2 hours and I was taking my time. Could easily do both sides in a couple hours, my mistake last time was using the hammer on the end of it lol.

I would recommend getting a couple cheap part store CVs to install while you reboot your OEM ones, that way when you put the OEM ones back in you'll have a couple spares to keep with you when on the trail.

On the upside, the temporary replacement makes a good trail spare.

yep, I debated buying a used OEM one off ebay this week but the last time I bought a used OEM axle off a member on here, the joint exploded up in Big Bear 2 weeks after I installed it and I had to replace it in the snow haha.
