Epic fail bumper install

Picked up the ol CaliRaised Stealth bumper and had the local shop install it and they chopped shit out of my front bumper cover because they said they were following the wrong instruction set.

It's not that major but I can't unsee it. Low key pissed off just wanted to rant.

I wouldnt leave that shop till they fix the HACK job they did.

 

Their negligence and not a very clean job to boot. I would say you are due some compensation as they admitted to being at fault.

 

I wouldn't have left until they resolved that. That's some major BS. They got insurance?

 

Don’t forget, you paid them because they claimed to be competent. They didn’t say “we’ve never done this before” when you gave them the business, did they?

They made a mistake. Now they need to make it right.

 

It can still be saved. You can apply edge grin around that void and it will look like it’s done on purpose and it wouldn’t look as bad.

 

Yes, if I made this mistake in my garage to my own rig, I’d do exactly this.

If I paid a shop for a professional and correct job, I wouldn’t accept this fix.

Well to some degree, what's done is done here. This shop admitted to their fuck up, so it will be interesting to see what they propose to make this right (or at least better).

 

No way is that acceptable. I would be having violent thoughts.

 

Couldn't you do it at home yourself? and maybe ask them for discount now or refund

 

Have them upgrade you to a full sized bumper, might as well cut the rest of it off at this point. And at a steep discount or in their dime being that a new bumper would be $$$ anyways.

 

Damn that’s upsetting. I hope they offered to fix the scratches and damage to the remaining parts of the bumper. I’d be furious.

 

If it were me, I’d go back and politely request they properly fix it. Which would
be a new OEM bumper and to reinstall the Cali-Raiser properly. Good luck!

 

Ask if they will use the correct instructions on the new cover they have on order.

Suggest the do the fitment before they have it professionally painted.

Know the cost of the cover and paintwork in advance so you have a fallback position if they mumble about cash.

Then you can decide if you want to spend it on that or something else.

lol, i dont think ive seen any instructions that advise cutting a bumper that way.
