Today I mocked up an area where I think I am going to put some switches for the cap. The dome light needs to be replaced and I'd rather wire one up to the truck battery than have one that runs off AAs.

    I'd probably have:
A master switch to bring power to the cap
    A dome light switch
A rear roof light switch (for when/if I get rear facing lights for on top of the cap)
    What else?

Today I replaced two brackets that the PO had screwed into the topper to replace ones that the rivets had broken on. I bought a rivet gun and did some riveting for the first time :). My replacement brackets are made from aluminum angle bar that I cut down to 1in and bent to allow mounting to the topper. I am no master craftsman but I am happy with the results, they might get painted black one day.

99% done. OME lift with 881 front springs, 1.25in spacers all around, and new front brake pads. Silly brake fitting tried to round out on me, so going to get a flare nut wrench tomorrow to install the extended brake line.

I finally beat the brake line tonight and got the new one installed, installed the proportioning valve adjustment plate, and bled the brakes. Lastly I finished torquing all the bolts and went for a test drive. All was well! Will go soon, maybe tomorrow, for an alignment.

Crappy photos but it was late again by the time I finished...

I'm getting a pop sometimes when turning left from the driver's side wheel, maybe a ball joint? It only started happening after I got an alignment, but today it didn't happen as much, maybe it will work itself out? ;)

I'm also getting a clunk after heavy braking, I am thinking it's my yoke that needs more grease, so I re-greased it tonight and I'll see if it gets better over the next couple of days.

Overall I am very happy with the new look of the truck, the lift is nice, not too much, and the wheel spacers move the wheels out just enough.

The suspension feels tighter and I have no issues with steering or tracking after the alignment.

Popping has gone away, but I still had a clunk issue. Today I dropped the carrier bearing and separated the spline so I could apply grease directly to it. Once back together my clunk problem seems to be fixed, I'll give it a few days to be sure though :)

Well the clunk in the rear end is still there. I took some footage to try and see what might be happening a the rear end. I plan on checking all my torque values and re-greasing my shackles. Also I bought new brake shoes but on removal of the drum I found plenty of life left on the existing shoes so I didn't replace them. I might still revisit them and ensure proper adjustment and grease as needed.

Here is some better footage. Shackles were taken down and greased. I think I am leaning toward the spline again with this new footage. Maybe need a carrier bearing drop?

    It's good, I can't say that I really felt/heard much of a difference.

You can check it out at Citrus :)

My clunk is better after adding even more grease to the yoke. Tonight I also drained my PS reservoir, added new fluid, cranked the steering wheel back and forth a few times, drained it again and refilled. I am hearing a slight whine from time to time when steering, looking to fix it :)

Topper came off recently, really enjoying how the truck looks without it
