Boy I had to dig for your spring rates. How much would you say your truck weighs? And I'm guessing those are 14's? Trying to gather info for my truck :spy:

Before the D60 I was #4600. My guess, with tools, truck trail ready and the D60 I am at #4800 (with me in it, so add #220)

Hmm so you're the closest comparison I've found so far. I'm right around 4400# with me in it

Ugh, lots. Lots of parts lol. They won't be the same though since you're running Chevy.

Right now I'm looking at the artec ram mount, 35 spline outers, yukon hardcore hubs, 5.38's, detroit. I want to do a double shear steering setup but not sure what highsteer arms to get. You running stock c's and knuckles? Stock inner shafts?

Why the Detroit? Doing road driving? Knuckles and C's are stock. The knuckles are reinforced though. All my shafts are 35 spline chromo Yukon. I found some cheap, good arms I'll send you link when I find it. I like them. I highly recommend that artec ram mount. It is top notch.

Im going to go with a spool in the rear and a Detroit up front to help with turning radius vs welded or a spool

You should do more research then for turning radius. Most of the stuff I read on pirate was that if the rear is unlockable than the turning radius is better. The front is pulling you the direction you want to go when your turn your wheels... With the back locked it is pushing you FORWARD, not the direction of the wheels, since they cannot turn. If the back is unlocked, it is free to follow the direction of the front tires.

Dam I just finished after skipping some pages with BS and stuff and wow just wow. So sexy! Curious what happened to your old metal fenders/cage? Crazy to see the transformation. @45acp you are a good friend man and do amazing work! 37237306.jpgjizzed-in-my-pants.jpg.jpg

Haha, thanks. Mark @NwiTACO helped build this truck too, don't forget him! I cut the cage off awhile ago because it just didn't serve what I wanted. It functioned, but was ugly. And I miss the look of a truck. I don't want a buggy.

good axle choices. nice build. helped my roomate swap his dana 30&35 out of his 88 jeep yj. now he's sitting with half tons, d44 front and 9" rear with spool in back. 5:13s lift springs and a stretch kit and 38 in bloggers. hope you have as much fun with your build as we do with ours (his)yj.jpg

Very true. Not exactly the same situation, but When I had IFS I had a lock right in the front axle while the rear axle remained opened for years. It worked out great for the very reasons you mentioned.

Now I have 1tons and 40"s with a grizzly locker in the rear and air locker up front. However, I have an Atlas transfer case... so front digs takes care of the turning radius in tight spots :D

What tires are you running when you had the D44 in there?
