I bet my dad would use them, He lives in FL. His back yard is a inter-coastal and across the street is the ocean.

My rant is when I’m kayak fishing and a boat slows up around me putting off massive wake instead of staying on plane.

I think most boaters think kayaks are alot more stable than they actually are. I mean yeah, they are pretty stable when flat, but the second you start rocking the boat they get pretty tippy.

One time when I took my kayak out, I decided to try lift the seat about 2 inches. It made it so much less stable, as soon as I got back to shore I tosses the spacer right into the trash can.

jetskis. i am shocked how much they can wake a kayak..and wakeboard boats..total insanity. i assume they are designed to create an awesome wake. i watch for those things 100% of the time.

Yeah, last lake I was at there was a wakeboard boat flying full speed around. They didnt care who they hit with their waves. But those boats, they fill the hull with water to make it heavy and create a big wave.

I’ve used glow in the dark creature baits for bass that a friend made once and we caught a couple off them. I can’t see why it won’t work.

Thats good to hear. On a related note, I keep thinking about making my own baits. Ive been saving all my used plastics incase I ever wanted to remelt them and make new.

That’s a good idea. There are plenty of molds out there for you. Do it molds make some good molds for plastics and the such. One of my friends has one.

Alright so last night I was screwing around with some of my fishing gear. I have these rod holder things, they are designed for 2 piece rods, there is a top and a bottom and a bungee cord that links the 2. Im trying to figure out how to attach them to the sides of my sling bag to make carrying multiple rods easy.

Im going to bring this over to my in laws house when my father in law is done having the wu flu so my mother in law can sew up some little tube pockets to hold the rod holders. I figure a pocket tube to hold the bottom, then a velcro loop that will hold the top. That way I can put just bare rods in there too.

Did some bank fishing last night, didnt catch a damn thing. But I wasnt expecting to catch anything because you cant reach the good spots from the bank, you need a kayak.

But the wife said I looked sad last night. I said "I didnt catch anything :(" so she said to take the next 3 days and go fishing all day.... wooohooo!!!!

Well, just got back from fishing at the river. Met a couple of guys out there that were going for bowfin. Ended up fishing with them for about 4 hours, and boy am I glad I did. I got a nice size northern pike, only problem was we were on a bridge and the water is about 25 feet down. Lucky these guys have been fishing here for awhile and had a 30 foot long net! So we landed the pike, the damn think ate my bait pretty good too, glad I had switched to a steal leader a little bit before catching him.

But, I got him on my 5'6 pistol grip baitcaster, and a powerbait paddle tail.

I went bank fishing last night, got a few bites but missed setting hook. Guy next to me caught a 5lb cat fish.

In other news i may have found a good hack to get the stink of anchovies off your hands, coffee grounds!! I rubbed some used grounds on my hands and then washed the grounds off with soap. Seemed to take off the scent of bait better than soap alone.

Yeah I know, I didnt get any pictures of him. The northern in this area are pretty rare and fragile. The lake is a overflow of the Mississippi river, so 95% of the year its cut off from the rest of the river. But a bunch of bowfin got in there, and they are out competing the northern for bait fish and have actually started attacking and eating large 30+ inch northerns. So I didnt want to keep him out of the water for too long. The bowfin come out in the evening in packs and just destroy everything. The group of guys I was fishing with kill every single bowfin they catch out of there because they are killing everything else.
