I just bought a new 23 Tacoma TRD Sport and was sitting a red light waiting to make a right turn. The turn signal was making its standard click click noise like all my previous Tacomas.

Then it happened... the turn signal sped up rapidly and was clicking really fast. Double the clicking rate than before. The turn signal kept clicking fast until I finished the right turn.
This happened again days later as I was making another right turn. I only have 150 miles on the truck. Any ideas what's causing it before i take it in to be fixed? I have not been able to reproduce the erratic clicking and knowing the way things go it won't do it when I get to the dealer

Any ideas about what could be causing it??

Older vehicles used to flash at double the speed when one of the bulbs was burnt out. I don’t know if the Tacoma does that as well but it’s an easy check to make sure the connections are seated at the headlight and tail light.

In my opinion, just bought = take it back to the dealer.

The issue with this logic is that the issue is intermittent. The dealer will hit the signal, it will work properly, and send them on their way.

I would wait for the truck to do it again, safely pull over while holding the turn signal stalk switch so the turn signal doesn't turn off. Get out of the truck and see what light isn't blinking. The brake/turns are still incandescent bulbs...most likely one of those is having an issue. Then either challenge the dealer to replace a $5 bulb or put one in yourself. If you are anywhere near Kansas City, I will give you all 4 brand new bulbs I took out of my truck when I put the MESO stage 1 on.

If you don't want to take it to the dealer (I completely understand that), then start by swapping turn signal bulbs and see if the problem follows the swap. If it doesn't, I would take it to the dealer.

Apply dielectric grease to all your light connections.

On the way back to the dealer the right turn signal started blinking erratically again. I pulled over and took a quick video of the right rear and front blinkers flashing rapidly. As I was making the video...the right rear blinker went out completely. The dealer removed the right rear tail light and found the socket had not been installed properly at the factory. Your help in identifying this problem taught me how to fix it myself if happens again. Thank you!

Glad you got it fixed and learned something in the process. Electrical issues suck.

Yes, the Tacoma and pretty much all modern vehicles with standard bulbs will do this due to the lowered resistance of not having the filament to activate. It's also the cause of hyper flash in aftermarket LED blinkers since they have much less resistance.
