I'll still consider this my Prius thread.

I'm in the process of my first mod for Judas but ti doesn't seem to be going well. Trying to paint the hubcaps black but I'm getting these funky spots.

what do the wheels look like without the hub caps?
Might get more mpg if you leave them off, saves on weight and drag.
Paint the wheels with a teflon coating and those babies will glide through the air.

Hit it up with primer first.

I dunno. Not my greatest coating or concern. I love the look of the alloys under these hub caps but they need to be painted black.

I think they look awesome without the covers. But they need to be painted black. Ironically 2012-16 they came from the factory black under the covers.

And the Prius forum is torn on whether or not you get better mpg with them on or off. The manual says the covers are there to reduce drag and mpg. But I've notice no difference with them on or off.

This isn't my car but same color and wheels:

Here's the same wheel in 2012 and beyond (black). I think they'd look awesome on silver

ditch the hubcaps, that's unneeded rotating mass.
Those actually do look really nice, for a Prius.

Go buy chrome moon hub caps. Reduce drag and increase MPG. Not to mention it will bring the ladies to the Prius. :D

    got it all straightened out.

there are two areas that need to be cut to fit.

left over track. there is about 30' left, I used about 35' total for the layout. Maybe I'll expand it someday, maybe not.

Use that extra to go through the dog door and to the fridge to get you a beer while you are on the patio. :D
