    Unfortunately you need an alignment after touching basically anything in the front suspension. I have a set of 5100's to replace my spacer lift and I don't want to do it because I don't want to pay for an alignment. I can't get the coil/shock assembly out without having to swing the LCA out of the way.

    I tested out my new suspension and tires today to see how it would flex and to see if I would have any rubbing. I definitely had rubbing upon compression and turning. It was rubbing the outer area of the fender, not so much the cab mount from what I could tell. It may not have been rubbing the cab mount as much because the backspacing on my wheels keep the tire pushed out from it. It will be rubbing a lot more once I remove the 1/2" top spacer on my 885s tomorrow. It looks like I gotta do some cutting for sure.

    A few bolts are different.
    a lot of the rubbing has to do with the Raceline wheels having 3.6" backspacing. 4.5" is ideal. Killer looking truck though. Removing the top plate spacers will also give you some down travel. looks like at that lift there is nearly zero down travel, UCA's being the limiting factor. 884 springs would probably suit better due to the lighter weight of the Reg Cab.

    Ya I wanted less backspacing so they would stick out a little further for looks. And I am looking forward to having some down travel :)

    And I thought the 885s would be better with the bumper and winch but they are still super stiff.

    Hopefully the low backspacing will keep me from needing to do a cab mount chop. Right now it looks like some modifying of the pinch weld and fender will be enough.

    I dont think your understanding the mechanics behind what I have said.

    The 884 would suffice due to the lack of weight with the Reg Cab and be less stiff + Plus would get you a little less lift increasing you down travel and giving you a smoother ride.

    The 4.5" backspacing, versus 3.6", will bring your wheels closer to the center of the vehicle. This will decrease your scrub radius, in turn decreasing the amount of rub on your fender flares/pinch weld/body mount area. But, this would also not stick out as far detracting for your trucks "good looks".

    Function over Looks is what I'm talking about.

    And here are some pics to see why having the extra gap on the Relentless bumpers is awesome. Normally there is a pretty good space in between the bumper and the body (I have the bumper set as low as it will go). But upon flexing, one side is stuffed and the other side has a big gap.

    I completely understand everything that you are talking about - I did tons of research before getting all of this stuff. I asked all the questions and received a lot of good answers similar to yours. Even so, your comments are appreciated.

    Regarding the cab mounts though, since they are not really interior or exterior relative to the wheels, I would think that the low backspacing would decrease rubbing on these because it pushes the tire further out and away from the cab mounts. That was the general consensus on this matter before. What do you think?

    I cant find much on the internet but think of it like this.

    With your 3.6" backspacing, the wheel sticks out further. 1.1" further than a wheel with 4.5" backspacing. Take 2 pencils, tie a string that is however long you want between the two. Hold one pencil still and draw a semi circle. Now, shorten that string between the two pencils by 1.1". Draw another semi circle. You can now see how much less the "scrub radius" is with the string that is 1.1" shorter that represents the wheel with 4.5" back spacing versus the longer string representing the wheel with 3.6" backspacking that sticks out further.

    The less the wheel sticks out (4.5" backspacing), the less the scrub radius. In turn giving you less tire rub on all your fender components.
    Still a killer truck non the less.

    True, but increased backspacing puts your at risk for rubbing on the frame, UCAs, etc.

    Seems like the money spot is 4.5" with trimming and a cab chop, for 33s anyway. For his bigass tires, his geometry is gonna be completely different.

    Then of course you get into different tire widths...for example, 285/70/17 KM2s are 33" in diameter and 10" wide. 285/70/17 Kevlar MTRs are 33" in diameter and 11" wide.

    Doing the math ahead of time may be less work than trial and error, but not by much.
