ESPN launching 3D channel this June in time for World Cup

Well, now the networks are going 3D themselves, starting with ESPN.​

According to USA Today, ESPN 3D will launch on June 11, just as the World Cup in South Africa gets underway. Other sports to be featured in the next year are the Summer X Games as well as college basketball and football.​

 

Not another new TV! I'm going to pass on this I think.

 

Hopefully all you will need is a set top box.

The 3D tv's are coming out this year. I read, by 2014 40 million gamers world wide will be playing in 3D.

And manufacturers are working on 3D without the glasses. But this is probably many years away.

I totally agree. Wait a few years after it has been out and the kinks have been ironed out and by then it would be cheaper as well.
