If just gravel roads ... I would think you just need to prepare for flat tires. Practice using the jack, getting the spare out. If you want to one-up that game, get an air compressor and a tire-plug kit to self-service if you must.

Aside from that ... pick your camping gear and maybe a stretch cargo net to hold it all in the bed.

People with rigged-out modded-out trucks have most of the products needed to save you from sand and shallow ditches.

Meet Karl. He had nice body panels once. Then a tree stump buried under sand tore at the door panel and under the door while turning around. If I had had sliders at the time there would have been 0% damage done.
Plus sliders make great step up bars for those that are vertically challenged. And they protect the doors when in malls and someone throws a door open next to you.
I don’t even think you have to wheel hard to justify them. If you ever have any plans to get into any rocks or trails I highly recommend them.

You won’t regret it. There are way more flashy mods but this one is essential

VIAR makes a great little air compressor that is less than $100 bucks and clamps to your battery terminals. No need to get a fancy compressor and hose kit that fills all 4 tires etc. I've had that same little compressor for 5 years and it still works great.

A shovel is cheap and useful. As for sliders, I am a big fan if you can swing the $$$. Steps/protection (Im not tall, nor is my lady). I also smashed the rocker on my old Jeep and that sucked, so I am a bit biased.

I mean yes they are great for protection no question about it. I do love mine.

It’s just I’ve camped in my stock truck for years before modifying, no damage except for BC pin striping.

Now I got the whole she bang:) Lift, 33s, sliders, front bumper, front skid, winch, bed rack and RTT.

Anything ya find to minimize the pin striping? Looked at doing a ceramic coat, but it’s super pricey where I’m at
