ETxTacoma's Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Build and BS Thread

Honestly, if I had not had the Outback, I would have just got new wheels and tires and drove it until the engine gave out... but sold the Outback took some of that money and said... this is for the Mustang and just started ordering.

The car had been in my grandma's garage ever since I can remember, the interior is spotless, it is perfect. The only major issue on the paint is on the hood where something got on it and it bubbled and rusted the hood.

But we have already figured out that the car is not original and is actually a 64 1/2, 65, and parts of a 66... which is what I had known since I was like 15 anyways. So we are just going to have fun with it. 3" straight piped exhaust that we are building, brand new American Racing 18x8s wheels in front, 18x10s in the rear, going to strip the paint off the hood and let the metal patina and then clear coat it... and then all the engine upgrades to make is drive better.

Pretty much the plan is to build a car that is fun to drive around town on Friday evenings, to Cars and Coffee events, and annoy boomers.

Do they do Land Cruiser stuff? My 77 lives in Tyler now and needs diesel engine and transmission work.

If not wanting to try and get it to New Braunfels, there is a shop in Tyler that a lot of my friends use and recommend called EQ Autoworks. Not sure if they do diesel work, however.

Is the 77 with family or did you sell it to someone?

 

All of my American people are gone now so we’ve moved to Tyler to be close to her people. 77 is sitting in our garage right now waiting for a shop to get the transmission sorted. I’ll check with EQ later today or tomorrow. At dialysis on Troupe Hwy right now and am usually wiped out after.

 

Maybe it's time for me to bring my thread back from the grave as well

Still have a truck, still in NJ until Jan, then back to San Diego. So getting it back in shape, ordered new fronts from accutune last week and some 5125s to slap on while the rears get overhauled

Going to have to get some longer rear brake lines and longer shackles...
