    Hey there,

Does anybody know if an a/c evac is 100% necessary before changing heater core (not saying I wanna vent it - just work around)? This thread ( ) seems to indicate that it can be done without messing with the a/c...

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

only if the evaporator must be removed to do it and I highly doubt it.

the heater core is strictly a water hose operated system and the a/c is not connected to it at all so unless its in the way or something you don't have to touch it. once you start disconnecting and reconnecting the a/.c system you can never seam to stop the slow leaks needing Freon every year afterwards
