Has anyone used Evans NPG Waterless Coolent in there Tacoma, or anything else? I've been reading up on this stuff and it is supposed to be not only better at heat transfer, but claims to eliminate internal corrosion. I had an aluminum thermostat housing in my 438 Pontiac motor spring a leak this summer due to major corrosion around the o-ring seal. The mating surface looked like swiss cheese! Seems like this could be a long term issue in our Toyotas too.

The Evans NPG+c is the newest formula meant for both performance and daily drivers, so that's the one I'm planning to use in the Pontiac. It's ~$40 a gallon, but it never needs changed. You do have to get as much water out as possible, and they also sell a flushing fluid to help - again expensive, but a one-time deal.

Here's some info from an Evans dealer: http://shop.edoperformance.com/evan...googleps-pla&gclid=CLCMz7PYgrsCFc9AMgodvmQAAA

The Jay Leno video is a marketing piece, but the aluminum side cover that he shows is exactly what my thermostat housing looked like. Evans website is down for some reason, but it was up last night and had lots of additional information.

So, anyone used this stuff, and what does the group think about putting it into my 2013 4.0L?

Toyota makes their own coolant specifically for their engines, and I haven't heard of anybody having issues with it. I wouldn't trust anything else personally.

Antifreeze turns into acid if not replaced when it is due. That is what ate the aluminum, improper maintenance.

I would be very cautious as it sounds like snake oil to me.

Also likely electrolysis from the aluminum thermostat housing bolted to an iron manifold with steel bolts.
