Evap oddity.

Hello,

Recently acquired vehicle... My truck failed inspection today in NC. The truck was a farm truck in Oklahoma. The Evap system has been modified. Anyone have any idea what this oil filter is doing under the hood??

The hose goes back to the top of the gas tank. I don't want to drop the gas tank... Any idea what this is??

 

Some homemade mess for sure. Not quite sure the purpose, unless to stop underhood fumes.

If dealer bought, seems like they have responsibility to provide a valid inspection. In some states even private sales have the same requirement.

'Cause there's some fixin to be done there!

 

i think it's better to send it back to the farm!

farm trucks are a whole other beast.
