Even an old fart can install seat covers.

I ordered and installed some seat covers for my new 2014 Tacoma DC. I wanted to preserve the original seat covers. I did some research on here and I know there were less expensive alternatives; however I am very pleased with my choice. They fit like a glove and even an old fart like me was able to install them after watching their video. How they wear of course is yet to be seen but they seem to be very well made even though made overseas. The flash from the camera makes it look as though the color of the seat covers isn't uniform but I assure you it is. They are the color of the darker shade of gray the seat covers show in the pictures. They did have a light and dark gray to choose from and I chose the darker gray.

They are Clazzio and I believe the interior color is called Graphite, I think. Us old fart's memories take awhile since we have so much information stored.:D

Just looked at their website. The header says "leather seat covers", but in the body of the page is says: "synthetic leather". We used to call that "pleather" or plastic, or vinyl! $ 450 seems like a lot of money for plastic

Im an old guy also and installed Clazzio's in my truck. It was one of the first things I did when I bought my truck. I'm keeping it till the wheels fall off so I wanted to keep the original seats like new. Part of the seat cover is synthetic and the inside portion is leather. Mine are black and several people have said. Wow the leather seats are really nice. Then I fess up and tell them they are seat covers. They were tight to get on and it took me 4 days due to my arthritis but I made it. Those look really nice.

xbxb, it took me about 2 1/5 hours, maybe 3. My hands and fingers were sore the next day from all the pushing and tugging but I gotter done. You are also correct about the middle panel being real leather and the backs and outer trim I believe are what they call bonded PVC. They are very nice seat covers made from what appears to me to be a quality material. As I stated above the wear quality is yet to be evaluated since only time will tell. Install yourself all leather seat covers would cost over a grand and probably not fit as well. Besides, I doubt if anyone makes a total leather install yourself seat cover.

Katzkins does. And it's not as hard as you would think. But I will agree until mine sat in the sun for about a week mine looked wrinkled. Those look tight from the get go which is a nice bonus. Good job op. Had I not gotten a deal on my katzkins for 300.00 I would have went thus route.

They look great you 'ol fart. But, one old fart to another...is the vinyl or PVC portion of the seat cover hot to the touch after the vehicle sits in the sun? I was considering those and that scared me off.

    cquester5,

It can get really hot here during the summer, numerous 100+ days. That is why I always buy light colored vehicles. In answer to your question, I don't really know yet. My truck stays in the garage while at home and I haven't had it long enough to park it in the sun for extended periods of time. My previous truck was a 2004 Tundra Limited with leather seats and it sat in the hot sun for extended periods while at work before retirement and the seats never seemed to get hot to me, but I use sun shades in the windows of my vehicles. Out here in west Texas the sun can cook the interior of a vehicle so sun shades are a smart and inexpensive investment.

these look great. I'm on the fence because katzkins will cost me 1100 installed, and this seems like a cheaper alternative and they look good. Do they sag at all? How is the fit.. can you see any slack in the seat covers?

    Clazzio seat covers,
Did you have to remove the original seat material?

Been out of touch for awhile. Had to make a long journey up to the far north west for a period of time. My replies to your questions may be too late.

coastalreb, No they do not sag. They are very tight. Takes some pushing and pulling to get them on. That is why my fingers were sore the next day. They have a very nice tight custom fit.

jpmorrisvb, No you do not remove the original seat covers. These go on over them. My reason for putting them on was to protect the original seat covers.
