Millimeter radar camera...new updated software and gasket and sealer.

Windshield replacement. , new updated software

Complete electronic failure. new computer ($2k under warranty ) new software

    Basically I have a 2019 with 2020 electronic update.

This is great news you would think. NO Now my outdated flip phone will not pair to the Bluetooth feature. I can do one of two things. Buy a smart phone ( $1100 Verizon) or plug this device offered by the dealer at no cost into the charging hole. I would lose the steering wheel usage for the phone and everything would go to this plug in aftermarket gadget. OR. Be illegal and still hold the flip phone in my hand like I have done for years. Guess which one I chose.

When you pair your phone to the truck and it says it has paired , that by no means is saying it will work. It just means it has met the devise. The part that says WAITING is what is keeping you from using Bluetooth.
I just now figured out how to get Amazon Prime on my non smart TV. If you think Education is expensive , try going without it.

    Here's another "technical tip"
I get all our phones used from Swappa.com. I paid $460 for the Note 9 a couple of weeks ago and sold my Note 8 for $275 Never buy from the wireless companies when they charge full MSRP of $1000 or more for phones. We upgrade every year using Swappa to buy and sell. Never had an issue

I'm old too but your problem is not with being old, it's not keeping up with tech. What you are saying is like "I typed Google on my Remington typewriter and it did not connect."
Flip Phone? Really? C'mon man. If you want to be able to enjoy the latest tech you have to have the latest tech. Or, go buy a 1978 truck, that way your flip phone is more advanced than your truck!

I have a prepaid flip phone and mine pairs to entune. You are doing something wrong. You can bring it to the dealer, my sales man did mine. I since changed radios and then did it myself.
Go to your dealer and ask nicely

Another note: be careful buying phones from eBay. People will open a new line for a brand new phone, sell it on eBay, and never make a payment. When that line goes delinquent, it becomes flagged as such and will be “bricked” and unable to connect to a wireless service ever again, thanks to the dick that sold it to you.

First world problem for sure. Either upgrade to a smart phone or forego the connectivity feature of the Tacoma. Plenty of used or off-brand smart phones available for far less then $1k+. And just imagine... you'll be able to enjoy TW wherever you are... added bonus!

You can get a Smart Phone for way less than a grand!

    Serious question.
    Forget the fingerprint sensor.
Is there anything about the S10 that made it worth the $300?
My S9 still has that new phone smell, but I look for reasons (legitimate) to upgrade.

I know this will shock you but I work all day long. I'm a retired Nuclear weapons worker. Don't really have a money problem. I like to have a beautiful yard and shrubs. I stay dirty. I don't have a pocket for a huge smart phone. I refused to hold it all day. This is what I retired to do. I enjoy doing it. I'm also a car guy. I have antiques and other cars. I stay busy. My wife keeps the latest Apple smart phone.

The dealer is the one that offered me the aftermarket gadget to use the Bluetooth feature , the 2020 software won't recognize the flip phone. It's not a big deal. I get about 3 calls a day. I don't do selfies but I do have to get my wife to take photos of cars and house , vacation ,etc.

I’m getting close to “old fart” age (I’m 61). My daughter and her husband still ask me how to work stuff with their cellphones or computers from time to time. I like to keep up with current technology so I don’t become an “old fart”.
