Been around since the Mayflower but can't remember for sure. After 43,000 miles on my Tacoma just started using bluetooth this week..I like it. An old dog with a new trick.

Then quit blaming the truck for something you refuse to do. Your post is nothing about the truck and all about you being set in your ways. The world is changing man. Change with it or not. If you choose not then quit bitching.

You are correct sir, I remember my son telling me "Dad you need to learn computer". I bought a desktop 30 years ago.i had all my cheat sheets right along side of it. I was never afraid of it, now the wife asked me she did this or that on her iPad and I would fix it for her.
I did not want to be a caveman as my son would call me and he was right and I am glad I Listened to him.

You didn't read it. There's useful info in my post unless the dealer is lying. The 2020 software does not pair a flip phone. You need to keep up with the computer functions.

The only thing that pairs well with a flip phone is Old Milwaukee beer.

It doesn't pair with your particular flip phone. Phone software and hardware is very model specific. Some other flip phone may work perfectly fine with your truck.

No keep the s9. I wasn't going to upgrade but my s9+ got water damage on the bottom speaker. The claim that scanner works with wet hands isn't all true. Doesnt work most the time unless its dry. Super slow motion felt better on s9+, also night pictures looked better. Miss having the notification LED aswell.

Thanks for the insight, I appreciate it.

I've had no complaints with the S9. The new scanner location was quite possibly going to be a down side for me, if only because my hand has fit this phone and the rear scanner perfectly from the first time I picked it up. (actually S9+)

Some people are weird like that. We finally convinced my mom to get a cell phone. She said she wouldn’t take anything but a flip phone despite the entire family telling her why they are a waste of money.

Finally we just bought an iPhone and said she had to take it. :)

But yeah, if you want to utilize new tech you need to at least be in the same decade.

I un-paired my phone from my truck. I felt like it was more of a distraction than anything. If I get a text while I'm driving I'll look at it when I stop or whenever I decide it's safe. I don't need to see it right when it comes in. I hate that the world expects us to be connected at all times.

You can turn off text notifications on entune. that's what I did. Only use it for phone calls.

FYI - you don’t need to spend $1,100 on a new phone.

I can’t stomach spending $1,000+ on a phone, so I own a $250 Samsung Galaxy J7. It is four years old now. It replaced my prior J7 that died after 6 or 7 years.

It is not the latest and greatest, but it still has Bluetooth, full Android app and WiFi capability, a large 10-inch screen, and allows me to do hands-free operation, stream music, take photos, text and check the web/email, plus a ton of other things I don’t even need.
