My comment was cleverly veiled in heavy sarcasm.

Also I take offense to statement as I was once a car salesman. Lol.

If I were the manager of that dealership and learned my employees were undermining the product it would be "sayonara". The current Tacoma is more than a fine truck. Period.

You dont want a M/T in cali unless you want your left leg to be bigger then your right from shifting in the shit traffic.

Thought you said "most". Figure you counted yourself as one of the exceptions, lol

    So was my oldest brother.

My oldest brother, who once had to call my dad from college so ask why the check engine light of his '83 Rabbit GTI was on. Dad asked when was the last time he checked the oil. He respond "the oil?"

This guy sold cars to people who (presumably) knew even less about cars than he did, and that scares me. He said he liked the job because he lived in one of those blue law counties where he always got Sundays off because it was illegal to sell cars then.

I like having a good rapport with service guys at dealership. I took the young guy that works the desk out in my 2018 to teach him how to drive MT.

I actually enjoyed selling cars. I was with Chevrolet at the time and was the only salesman who bothered to go to the Corvette/Camaro training. So I got to sell every Corvette/Camaro. Kept me from having to deal with alot of the tire kickers, especially since my dad was a board member for one of the states biggest Corvette clubs. I just worked for a VERY shitty dealership who did some really underhanded stuff and got mad when I wouldnt participate. My ethics got the better of me and I bounced.

I did that when I worked service at Ford, scared the living hell out of a porter when I took an offramp at "too fast" speed in a Focus RS.

I love the M/T in my 98. But it is awful driving in a winter storm on I-70 stop-and-go traffic for 7 hours.

Thats no lie. Traffic in a MT sucks. I got stuck in traffic outside of Houston for 7 hours in my 06 Evo IX. 700ft lbs unsprung race clutch, never got over 10mph. I limped into our hotel by the time we got to Galveston. We took my wife's Xterra every time after that lol.

I bought mine as an auto for that reason, knew it would be my daily and always driving in traffic. I do "shift" through the gears to engine brake/accel.

I have my bike for manual, although admittedly, yes it sux sitting and moving slow in traffic, let's just say with carpel tunnel my hands are routinely off the handlebars (not that I like that)

My 04 DC is an auto obviously. And I have a very strong inclination to swap in a manual tranny into it. But I love being lazy.

A bonus and detriment is: My GF is able to drive an auto.

I did a work experience at Jaguar back in '94 when I was 15 and the mechanic took me out in a 600bhp XJS Lister on a 2 mile stretch of dual carriage way with half a dozen roundabouts... that was fun :)

On a side note I love my 2020 OR automatic, shifts predictably and just fine.

I work for Jaguar/Land Rover now. The fastest Jag ive gotten to drive was my wife's 380bhp 2015 XF R Sport. 3.0L Supercharged. Havent been able to con anyone into letting me drive an f-type svr yet.

That's kind of your wife ;)

We had a XJ220 in the showroom at the time, that was also a customers car but that did not go on test drives.

Even the R150f shifts kinda clunky. Its not a honda transmission. Though sometimes I wish there were upgrades for it, like better syncros for smoother shifts. All we get are aftermarket shift forks and a hardened thrust washer.

Another manual hub bonus. Just slam it into 4l with hubs unlocked and idle up the hill in traffic
