Never pulled over in the tacoma, but I don't drive like a jackass anymore. I've been pulled over in my old track-prepped audi a hand-full of times, always when I was at fault, always for speeding. more or less parked that car about 6 years ago and started driving much slower cars that are fun to drive within the confines of the law.

i'm not old- not even 30, but i hit a point where i'd rather get there eventually and alive than not get there at all.

Not a cop anymore. Was once though. Never stopped a car because I "wanted" to. Always because of how the driver was behaving, expired/stolen tags, broken equipment, etc.

Wrote a guy for speeding in a Corvette once. He went to court to fight it. Guy told the judge I only stopped him because he had a Corvette with loud custom exhaust. I told the judge the only reason I noticed him coming was because he had, "loud custom exhaust" and when I looked up from my paperwork it was obvious he was speeding. LiDAR confirmed it. The judge told him that if he wants to attract attention he shouldn't violate traffic laws while doing so.

Whether or not you get a ticket is mostly about your attitude and what you did to get stopped to begin with. If you treat cops like crap you'll get written. If you're a mature adult, accept responsibility for your actions and treat the officer with respect your chances are better.

As for me... only been stopped once in my entire life. Passenger's seat belt was stuck in his door and the Deputy wanted us to know. I drive like a grown up - therefore no tickets.

My Taco isn't super modded yet, but I did get out of a ticket once. I got pulled over by a young backwater cop, who claims I ran a stop sign , even though I practically put the truck in park so I could scold my son. My wife was so pissed at him that he told me that he could see I learned my lesson and he let me go, I think he just wanted to get away from my wife (she's a tiny firecracker). I have way illegal tint on my truck too, but thankfully he didn't notice or care.

    Workin' on it....
Haven't been stopped in the Tacoma. Got a ticket for doing a rolling stop in the work truck. Little bit annoying since I was the only person at that intersection (frontage road in the middle of nowhere) at the time (cop was sitting in the park and ride parking lot down the street). The frustrating part is at other times when I've been behind cops in traffic at intersections (numerous times now) they don't stop at the stop sign any better. When it comes down to it I don't really mind getting the ticket since I was technically in the wrong but it burns my ass that the cops aren't setting an example themselves.

Only been pulled over once in the Taco for tinted windows. He let me go. Worst ticket was for a speed contest in my 87 Vette with a ZZ4 crate motor when I was a dumbass 21 year old. im 37 now and my days of driving fast are over a decade behind me.

eh, ive been pulled over a lot...tacoma, camaro, honda, F100 in that order...lol They really dont care about your vehicle unless its a muscle car of some sort. Normally they are just doing their jobs. However the camaro I had was a cop magnet...I cant remember how many times they pulled me over...."its too loud", Someone called you in for speeding:rolleyes:. Normally if you talk nice to them they let you go...I did get a big ticket in my Honda though...one out of 20 pull overs so not bad...

I wrote a fire fighter for speeding once during rush hour. BECAUSE he kept pushing the issue that he was a fire fighter and therefore I HAD to give him a break. Kept telling me he had a decal in his window, blah blah. My reply was, "IF you're a fire fighter you know what high speed vehicle collisions look like and should know better." On the other hand I let off a correctional officer at 2 am for speeding because he apologized and was the only person on the road at the time.

It's all about respect. If you're acting entitled so far as I'm concerned you're entitled to a ticket. ;)

My combat veteran plates got me out of a speeding ticket. Cop talked to me about his deployments we talked story for like 5 mins all he said was slow it down a bit. I was respectful and even thanked him for pulling me over.

Simply put, I don't care for law enforcement. When I was younger I was harassed by some small town cops in eastern Oregon for simply being friends with Hispanics. Then when I was 23 I received a concussion and a dislocated shoulder for walking outside of a house party. I was detained for over an hour while they tried to figure out why my valid drivers license belonged to someone that looked as young as I do and had nothing on my criminal record.

With that said, I always drive the speed limit and maintain mindfulness while I drive. I haven't been pulled over since I was 17. I'll turn 29 this summer.

I did get a call from a local officer the other day telling me that I needed to "Take it easy" because the exhaust on the diesel that i was driving was too loud under heavy acceleration and it sounded like I was speeding.

I much prefer exhausts that do not attract underside attention.

I do also, but it wasn't my truck and the owner had the 4" turbo back put on to help with his exhaust gas temps when towing, to help keep the turbo cooler.

Also the officer knows me pretty well and was partially messing with me.

    A few things
Only time I've had dealings with law enforcement in my Tacoma was with fish and game at an abalone check point. They searched my truck, found I was all documented and in legal limits. They were very curtious as was I. Drove away shortly after with no problems.

From a couple responses I think it's meant to bait people into spewing anti police rhetoric. ;)

Except that most of the responses are fairly positive.

But the whole premise is stupid , people do or do not get pulled over for their actions not what vehicle they are driving .

Actually I think the examples indicate that some vehicles actually do attract unwanted police attention and that some officers appreciate tacomas.
