I've got two 69 GTO's and drove each of them once with expired tags and got pulled over both times. Just drove my Tacoma for a year with expired tags and never got stopped, the registration was paid but apparently the tags were misplaced and forgotten about.

I've had one moving violation in 50 plus years of driving, which was back in the early 70's, thought about fighting it but I did make an illegal turn. There was one sign and it was partially blocked from view.

I did get stopped and cited three times in the early 80's driving a company bus. I did not break any laws and eventually got off on all three tickets. Yeah probably very had to believe, see below.

In the SF bay area getting stopped by a motorcycle cop chances are very good that you will get a ticket. For one ticket a witness (not a friend) went to court with me and testified before the judge. Regarding the other two tickets, one was for using a transit lane, cop asked for the registration but realizing his mistake refused the registration and wrote it up as a Chevy instead of a bus. The other ticket was for an illegal left turn, ticket written at 1pm. 4 signs clearly posted no left turn between the hours of 7-9 am and 4-6pm. Cop stated if I signed the ticket he would go back with his motorcycle drive through the intersection and if I was correct he would return take back the ticket and apologize. He returned, stated the ticket stands, no left turn posted 24 hours a day.

At this point my driving record was 4 stops, 4 citations. Since then I've been stopped twice and no citations.

Back in the 60's drag races between stop lights were very common and I did my share so I don't mean to imply I was always a saint.

I haven't been pulled over in it, but I have not been pulled at all in situations that I would have been in other vehicles. Nothing major, but stuff like rolling a stop sign. I think it just being a somewhat adult vehicle helps. Cops didn't seem to like my bright yellow jeep with barely legal tint too much, maybe it just screamed stupid kid inside. They aren't huge fans of my yellow Yamaha FZ6R either.

    It has been a while...

That was only the second time I've ever been pulled over. First time I was 17 and got a warning for 70 in a 55

In my stock old red 98, I never got pulled over in the short year and a half that I had it. Lesson learned: drive a completely stock old red truck and no cop will ever pull you over no matter how dumb you drive.

In my black slightly modded 01 though, I got pulled over twice.

The first time was because I was tailgating my moms car in front of me. When I was pulled over, my mom pulled over too. Cop noticed it was my mom and just gave me a warning of how a deer could jump in front of me mum and I wouldn't react fast enough.

Now the second time is BS. I was moving out of state in a week, so I didn't keep up with the registration. BUT THE FIRST DAY IT EXPIRES, I GET PULLED OVER. Got to pay a couple hundreds bucks for registration I don't care about and don't need right before I moved.:rain:

Never been pulled over in the Taco. Truck doesn't like to go over 80, and everyone in California already drives well over 80, so I just kind of blend in mid-pack.

Been pulled over once in my Taco. I was leaving a McD's early in the morning, cool damp pavement. My inside rear wheel spins. He pulls me over almost a mile away from the scene of the crime. He told me what he pulled me over for, asked if my truck was new. I told him not really. He took my drivers license and proof of insurance. Came back gave me a warning, told me my proof of insurance was expired, let me off on that as well.
WTF a wheel spin that didn't even chirp.

I've gotten a reckless ticket because of someone decided that he would be an informant for the police. This guy followed me clear across town keeping track of every infraction I had to tell the police and I had arrived to my destination realizing this car was following me, which means he was speeding and such too! The police arrived and gave me a ticket which I fought and the prosecutor plead it to a speeding ticket. So not to bad of an end result but a lot of headache for someone trying brown nose to the police. People need to mind their own business!

What a prick! I didn't even know that the police could do that. Were they filming you doing it? Where was the police's evidence?

No evidence when I got the discovery besides that guys word against mine. The cop told me the only reason I wasn't going to jail was because they didn't witness it (the cops). It was going to cost me $500 to fight it and $160 to pay the speeding ticket, so I took the speeding ticket.

I didn't think so either but apparently if someone accuses you of something you have to now prove your innocence.

Dang, I full on drifted a left turn from a red light because of shitty AT KO's and wet pavement in front of a marine patrol officer (statewide authority) and he didn't do shit.

My cousin out in SoCal had a Mini Cooper S and got pulled over for 105 in a 65, citation stated 73 in a 65, by CHP no less.
