    Incorrect.

Check the history on that post.

That article keeps getting "corrected" by helpful editors who don't know what they are talking about. The quote I listed came directly from Toyota.

Mainly it's because those editors are not familiar with the local geography and history.

All I know is I'd much rather have my truck named after the mountain than the city. All I remember of the city of Tacoma was drug infested gangbangers. Don't make the mistake I did one time and end up on "K" street...good way to get your car jacked and end up in the crossfire!

That mostly happens in Lakewood, not Tacoma. If you watch "Cops" you'll usually see Pierce County Sheriff assisting Lakewood Police. Downtown Tacoma is actually quite nice and the outer lying areas have improved. Lakewood on the other hand is the trouble spot.

I was there a couple of years ago visiting my sister. When we were on the way to the airport to leave there was a guy towing a smoker down the highway smoking ribs. I couldn't believe it I was never so hungry in my life!!!

I don't know if you can categorize Gig Harbor and Tacoma together. I think it would be like saying, "Santa Barbara/East L.A." It just doesn't work.

28 miles to the south to be exact. Track me down when you arrive.
