i pack a lunch for work, when i can. i always forget a fork/spoon. since needing reading glasses, i started carrying a bag for all my crap. multitool, flashlight, pens/pencil, and other chingaderos. on a whim, i bought chopsticks. i use them more than the multitool for sure. they are advertised as titanium chopsticks but i am skeptical. they feel too heavy. the added heft is a bonus. i love the weight. perfect amount of texture on the tip, so picking up food is easy. my bag MVP are a pair of chopsticks. maybe my life revolves around food too much ? :)

either way, it's just a thought. these are inexpensive Keith Titanium chopsticks. off Amazon.

I dunno why but I hate metal chopsticks.

I have a set of Ka-Bar (yes the fighting knife company) ones I like a lot though.

I have those same ones, they work great. Keith Titanium has a lot of good products. I'm particularly fond of their canteen/cup

I eat everything with chopsticks, even chimken nuggies.

Actually I typically use them with popcorn and chips and such, keeps your fingers clean and thus your keyboard and mouse clean.

Good to know I'm not the only lazy-ass laying on a recliner eating popcorn out of a bowl with chopsticks. It's really a game changer in the clean hands department.

I just realized I lied to you. I went with the Kuvik's instead of the Keith (I have other keith stuff). I liked the little steel case they came in and it's perfect for keep them together and clean when out camping or whatnot

Oooh. I need a case like that.

Right now my 2nd pair lives in the truck rolled up in a thick plastic bag.

1st pair usually lives in a dirty bowl in the kitchen sink.

One gripe about the Ka-Bar sticks is they're a little dumb end heavy.

While I feel like that actually kinda improves utilization in the hand they want to SCUBA flip off the rim of whatever you rest them in.

You either have to stab them into whatever you're eating (which goes against my cultural conditioning) or lay them across the top in which case if there's anything saucy on the tips it's not going to stay in the bowl if it drips off.

Take my eyes off them and my choppys be like:

I'm not saying I got them because they don't set off metal detectors, but I have discovered that they do not set off metal detectors.

Yeah stabbing chopsticks into food is only done when it's in offering to the gods, otherwise it's basically taken as a death wish towards the chef.

Also not supposed to pass food stick to stick with another person as that's done during Obon (think Japanese day of the dead except it's like a week long with nearl a month of prep) with the cremains bones of your families ancestors from the "womb tombs".

You're supposed to pick food up place it on another plate and then the other person picks it up.

    Tradition man.

    :notsure:
