I had been averaging 20 - 21 mpg with my 19 sport mt , all stock
with the original toyos and chinstrap . Changed the tires at 41 k to
Goodyear wrangler workhorse ats and removed the chinstrap . The taco looked good
but my mpgs dropped to 17 . The workhorse is a good working truck tire ,thats good
In the upstate NY nasty winter stuff . No regrets . But with gas at nearly $4 and climbing
    daily , i put the chinstrap back on . I got 2 mpg back , I’m @19 now .j
I use my truck daily , no serious off roading , lots of recycling (dumps) transfer station
visits , landscaping projects , lots of hauling some trailering and grandchildren car service .
Function And economy trumps looks .
I’m surprised at how much of an impact the fascia had on mpgs

I took my air dam off and installed a TRD skid plate, didn't see any noticeable change in gas mileage. Truck is stock with original Toyos.

Interesting thoughts. I recently installed a TRD skid plate in place of the two stock panels on my OR. Only one tank of gas since but averaged about 1/2 of a mpg better. Obviously there are too many variables to draw a conclusion but wondered if the smooth TRD plate provides a bit less wind drag.

    Wishful thinking, I’m sure.

I get 20 around town and around 22 on the highway. I have my chin strap on as well. It is also my daily driver and I need the gas milage more that I need the "wow" that looks good.
