No sway bar. I yanked mine off on the trail as I thought it was that, sadly no.

Also getting a popping sound in mine when turning on a slope. No rubbing and everything is tight. Running non resi Elka 2.5 with Camburg UCAs.

No big updates to share from krave. They were kind enough to check my torque specs on the cam bolts (and mostly all suspension components). Everything was tight. Other possible causes mentioned are cv binding, which I doubt is the case. Back to the drawing board.

It has to be the CV for us. What else could bind and then pop? I have noticed it’s taken a bit longer for my 4x4 to engage now. I wonder if it’s the angles these shafts are at?

Anybody post up some pics of the angles? What is your hub to fender measurements?

I’m right at 23” passenger and about 23 1/4” driver, hub to fender.

Just to comparison. My drive is right at 23 1/2 and passenger is 23 3/8. Also running swaybar without clearance issues.

These angles look reasonable to me. Maybe others can chime in.

Anyone ever consider the coilovers binding up or not valved correctly? Still can’t track this down. Seems odd that others have the same issue.

My buddy and I brought that up the other day. He said his Dobinson’s do the same thing on his 4Runner. I wonder if the springs bind with the heavier spring ratings

Well crap, look what I discovered yesterday
Hopefully it's just something they can send vs. having to pull the coilover and resi 20210806_183705.jpg

I think it’s just a 2mm or 2.5mm Allen bolt that holds the knobs on. Shouldn’t have to remove anything

Hey all, I've been following this thread for awhile now. Had Elka 2.0 2-3" coilovers installed at KRave 2 months ago. I have the popping/knocking on both the driver side and passenger side up front when the tires drop off into a hole at slow speed.

I'm running SPC UCA'S, ECGS bushing, 650# 14" springs, 2 3/4" lift up front, diff drop, 33's, no sway bar, and Elka rear shocks with dakar heavies in the rear. I have full steel skids, steel rock rails, stock front and rear bumpers, no winch. Front coilovers make this pop/knock both unloaded and fully loaded with camping gear (4914 lbs unloaded, 5951 lbs loaded).

I have no idea what this popping/knocking is. It sounds like there might be some bump stop limiter inside the front Elka coilover or something that is making contact under full droop. CV angles look ok to me. All bolts/nuts and components torqued and checked by both myself and KRave. Photos are how the truck sits when loaded.

Will update if I figure out anything.

Have you talked to Krave yet?
We should get Krave to bring this up with Elka and get some answers.
