    I think people over think re gearing alot. I'm on 295's mild build for weight and still tow 3000lbs semi regularly on stock gears with an ov tune.

    As for bumps i did a timbren u bolt flip kit with their bumps havnt had any complaints over the past year.

    All it does is shift your rpm range you'll be in 5 at the same rpm as you were in 4. Re gearing for a better crawl ratio makes sense regearing for highway performance eh sounds like throwing money away.

    How long have you had your elka 2.5 IFP? have you put 30k miles on them yet?
    I got the same set up 2 to 3 inch set up new here in the box have not put them on my truck yet.. still need to buy UCA was going to buy dirt king but now i am going to go with Ironman 4x4 UCA they finally lowered the price from $800 to $500.

    I got them used with 5k miles on them, and have since put 20K on them. I've got old style Icon UCA's that I got off owner of relentless fab with 5K miles on those. All 4 IFP shocks, and Icon UCA's I paid 1500 bucks total lol. 1150 for the Elkas and 350 for the Uca's.

    Got my Pre-load adjusted with the 650 coils. Seems like I ended up getting a little bit better than 2:1 ratio on adjustment. Truck now sits perfectly level. Do springs still "settle" If I just added pre load? Or am I gonna end up backing them of 1/4 inch to get my ideal 1/2" rake back in the truck?

    All good. It’s good now. Might lower a touch to get some ride quality back. It’s not bad. I notice the IFP’s really don’t like small square edge drops like Fire road cruising and it drops off a 4” rock.

    Did hells revenge today and had plenty of suspension :)

    After adding a steel skid, bumper and winch(synthetic line), I had to go to the 14"/700lb springs with my 2.5 dsc's.

    14” 650 would be ideal for how I’m setup right now I think. Would be only the tiniest pre load on it. I have a spare 13” 700 but don’t think I want more spring rate just length.


    if it’s also your daily they’re damn good. I’d you’re expecting 100% purpose built off-roader I think there’s other ways to go than the IFP’s. But for simplicity’s sake, I’m glad I have em, and had the ability to raise the front easily after adding full skid sets vs clip settings on bilsteins and taking tophats off etc

    obligatory hells revenge pic with shit quality cus this is first night having service but only occasionally 1 bar & friends phone couldn’t get the full HD sent to me

    Elka 2.5" DSC w/ Deaver Stage 1, Archive Hammer Hangers, SPC UCAs, Timbren bumps, 16" TRD baja wheels, 265/75r16 BFG K02, 1.25" wheel spacers, TRD skid plate, N-Fab spare tire box mount.
    I think that's just Elka's default valving. Even the 2.5 DSC out of the box are quite harsh on sharp fast bumps/drops like that. There's been a couple reviews online that also mention this. I had to get mine re-valved significantly softer to get rid of that. Like 40-50% softer on the compression stack.
