Well, I spoke with Elka this morning and they said that since I purchased the shocks from Headstrong that Headstrong can send me a new one and they'd replace it for them. I reached out to headstrong and was told that they probably can't send me a new one because they come in pairs and they don't want to separate them. Has anyone else had issues like this dealing with Headstrong?

If they won't replace it I'm going to need to send my rear shock to Ohio for warranty repair. I hate to say this but I'm starting to wish I would have just purchased a Toytec...

Dang, I would think the manufacturer would warranty the item, or communicate to HS "the deal" so that you can get right, and sooner than later. Interested since I also got mine through HS. Any of our Northern Brothers experience anything similar dealing with Krave, or have insights?

    Shitty...
HS sends you 1 shock, Elka sends HS the replacement. How is that separating them?!
It's not like they are Twix lol

I want to update you all here. I did get a personal call from Headstrong yesterday and it really helped to ease my concerns. It seems like they are speaking with Elka now and will most likely have a replacement in the mail for me very soon. I just wanted to be transparent with that. I'll keep you all posted, but at the moment it seems like everything will be alright. TBC...

I did just an email from Headstrong with the tracking number for my replacement. Much love to both Headstrong and Elka for making it happen.

Not my truck but another local guy running a similar setup. These things rule for high speed shenanigans.

Can someone please help me and really just tell me what to get? There's too many options and the 2nd vs 3rd gen ride height difference is making my head hurt trying to keep it all straight...

I've got a 3rd gen TRDOR DCSB AT 4WD. I want to get the Elka 2.0 front and rear full kit from Headstrong. My OEM leaf springs look flat, and I have a Leer 180 camper shell but don't haul too much otherwise (home improvement and camping gear).

Should I get an AAL or a new leaf pack to go with the Elka 2.0 setup? What kind of ride height difference can I expect on my 3rd gen? I bet the answer is somewhere spread across 27485028 different threads...

Replace the OE leaf springs...you can get them based on what you want in terms of constant weight/lift gained from new leaf pack.

I went with 2.5 dsc for the 2-3in lift...in my 2017 dcsb. I added Dobinsons heavy leaf pack, but I've got the are hardshell, plus full 285/70r17 5th and another 240lbs of gear roughly in the bed.

Hope that helps...build link in signature if you want visuals pre and post leaf install

Elka 2.0 with HS AAL. Stock size tires on 16” SCS wheels. I got the full 1-1/2 on the rear from the hub center. Only got 1-1/4 in the front. Need a turn or 2 on the coil over. Drives way better than stock and love it on and off-road. The rear tightened up a bit. Nothing too bad. 700lb coils.

hahahaha I feel you man! There's almost too much information out there on TW...
I heard HS is awesome to work with. I would recommend calling them and get it sorted out. I see you already got some information on this thread.
    Good luck!

Too good not to share, wish I knew where that was. Although it looks like maybe a private farm road.

Did you get the extended travel ones? I'm trying to figure out if I need UCAs with the extended travel 2.0 shocks because it says they provide 2-3" of lift (is that 2nd gen numbers)?

I'm seeing the same thing up front--1.25" up front (center hub to fender) with the 2-3" 700lb spring kit. So much for being preset to 2.5". I've yet to turn the preload collars but wanted clarification from Elka what the deal was before doing so. So far, crickets. I just have a slight rub on turns when compressed, so not a huge deal. Moving the wheels forward a tad during my scheduled Apr 19th alignment appt should fix that. Otherwise, love the ride quality. Moocho better.

Same thing although on 2nd gen with winch and bumper... coming from an OME setup with 885 coils that sagged due to the added weight. The new, factory set Elka 2.5 DCs, seem to give me less than 2” and are still giving quite some flex rub (alignment next week), which I haven’t had before. Keep me posted about adjusting the height and what Elka says.

Interesting, ordered my 2.5 dsc with 700# springs and the 2-3in lift option. My collar is on thread #1 from factory, 20200919_155424.jpg and I've added hybrid slimline, steel skids and a winch. I've lost the ~2.5in lift on driver's side, so I'll be cranking on the collar in the not too distant future.
