Re-release?

 

43 yrs old and still love the LEGOS.

 

Sorta. It is a re-release of the UCS Snowspeeder. However I doubt it shares much of the original build design. I believe the set will be numbered 75144.

 

I really like it. I want to start getting a couple of UCS sets. The Tie Fighter, Slave 1, AT-ST and the X-Wing are at the top of that list. And now the Snow Speeder.

Built this business card holder for my desk at work. Love legos!

 

Here is another view of the business card holder. The truck was a kit, I added the bed with side markers for the cards and driver.

Also, in the background, a piston out of a 12L I6 cummis and one from a nitro RC car motor.... always good conversation starters when people come to my office, as most that do dont know what the hell they are looking at (Work in IT)

 

I used to have a minifig hanging from my rearview in the truck but every time I went wheeling he'd fly off.

 

Photos from the New York Toy Fair have been posted. There are so many sets I want. It's going to be a crazy year.

 

Any other 'builders' in here? I don't have a lot of Legos and generally have to settle for multi colored builds but I enjoy building with my kids. Most of our Lego kits we buy don't last more than a few weeks; my 5 and 8 year old like to break them down and just build on their own.

Some builds I posted about a year ago; I've since rebuilt the first one and added a few more builds to the collection.

The red "tank" never did well with the kids. It wasn't built well and parts fell off if you weren't too careful. The red and grey guy didn't do so well either. The first tank, the smaller of the three, is the sole survivor and on its 5th or 6th revision.

I tried to built these to be "playable" for the kids. For the most part each one can be dropped (except the big one) with only antennas to really worry about (some of these antenna have been through the ringer).

Many of these Legos I got from my parents house and are probably almost as old as I am. You can def see the fading, teeth marks, etc (if the pics weren't so grainy).

The builds:

This one is my favorite; it took me a long time to get right. As mentioned above, many revisions. It was hard to get it to look how I wanted it given the lack of Legos and trying to keep it kid proof. I like how it turned out.












From the original three tanks, the larger grey and red one wasn't a build I was ever happy with. Rebuilt it many times but finally decided to start off from scratch. It was one of those days where the build just went exactly how you wanted it. I struggled on the side turrets a little but I think it was the easiest build so far. I'm very happy with the slopped sides. I used some technic pieces with about a 30* bend and built the siding off that so its pretty much bomb proof.












This one was kind of an accident. I forgot what I was building initially but I saw the potential and just built it out. It took a while to get the turret how I wanted it. Its definitely one of my favorites.










I don't have much to say on this build. I wanted to try something different and it worked out very well.














The hardest build of the lot. This one took me three days on the first revision. I believe its been revised only twice but they were major rebuilds. In all, probably 5 days total on this build. Its my 2nd favorite.
















I got a lot more ideas but I need a lot more Legos . I also need a better camera

50 1.5 weeks ago still love em! The wife took me out to dinner. I would have settled for a Legos Tie Fighter

I'm going to the Lego store today. I'll post anything that I buy. I have my eyes on the new Star Wars sets.

So here is what I bought from the Lego store and a shipment from shop@home. They messed up and sent me 2 extra Joker Brickheadz and forgot to send the Batgirl one. Oh well, I'll just add Batgirl to my next order.

 

This is from toys r us and target. It was a good Lego weekend.
