On the contrary, I find them very special.

LEGO limits the 75192 USC Falcon to one per customer, and some scalper still bought one for the sole purpose of making a profit!

@PennSilverTaco i think sold out and out of stock are two different things.

Shop@home is legos online store. The UCS Falcon was available to Lego VIP members earlier today. It quickly sold out. (Not surprising at all). Look at the markup people are charging on Amazon, $1,200

 

Regarding the mine loader, yes, I think it's retired. It has been out for a couple tears, so production has probably ended. Not entirely certain, though - just running on conjecture.

Oh yeah, fully agree. My friend and I waited in line for the Falcon on release day before the Lego Store opened. There were only four available and we each got one. Less than an hour later one of the remaining two was on Craigslist for $1400. I have an idea of who it was from talking with everyone while waiting, but there's nothing you can do about it. Scalpers annoy the crap out of me.

Lego will not end production on the UCS Falcon for years. It’s just new and in high demand for Christmas and collectors. Give Lego time to catch up. It’s senseless to pay $1,200-2,000 for an $800 item in a couple of months.

 

This is 2017. Why can't LEGO just crank them out?

 

There are any number of reasons. I think the most plausible is Lego expected the falcon to be a low production run. It’s an $800 TOY. Not to many kids get that kinda birthday money or allowance. Secondly the original UCS Falcon sat on the shelves for months and was heavily discounted to move them. Additionally the original was $300 cheaper.

Or Lego is artificially keeping the supply limited to drive up demand. I doubt this since they aren’t making a profit on hopes and dreams.

 

But you think I will be able to just buy one sometime next year?

 

Friend gift exchange last night. They know me too well. Surprisingly my first Storm Trooper minifig. Still need to pick up a battle pack with an Empire storm trooper
